Aceh Besar: This morning, Dompet Dhuafa Aceh deployed the Health Emergency Response Team (RDK) to help accelerate the response of health services to refugees from Rohingya on Tuesday (27/12/2022). It is because hundreds of refugee people from Rohingya had just leaned on the coastal areas of Aceh Besar and Pidie during the day and evening the previous day.
The Head of the Dompet Dhuafa Aceh Branch, dr. Fauzan, in his written message, explained that 1 (one) ship containing 57 Rohingya refugees had just docked on the coast of Aceh Besar on December 26, 2022 afternoon. Then there was one more ship that docked in the coastal area of Pidie in the afternoon.

“In Aceh Besar, there are 57 refugee people, all adult men. Then there was one more boat from the Rohingya which landed in Pidie; there were about 70 refugees, men, women, and children,” explained dr. Fauzan.
Consisting of Doctors and Medical Volunteers, the RDK Team also collaborated with IOM in health service actions in Aceh Besar and Lhokseumawe. As the team was writing this report, the joint health team was still coordinating with the Pidie government to help respond to health services there.
“Apart from providing health services, the RDK Team also rolled out food and beverage logistics assistance. Insha Allah, we will continue this action for the next 4 (four) days to help Rohingya refugees,” concluded dr. Fauzan. (Dompet Dhuafa / Aceh / Dhika Prabowo)
