JAKARTA — The Community Service Institution (LPM) of Dompet Dhuafa, in collaboration with the Cahaya Madani Semesta Foundation, has organized an Upgrading Training for Quran Teachers in Orphanages and for the Underprivileged. This training was held over two days, Thursday and Saturday (16—18/11/2023), and was attended by 60 Quran teachers representing various orphanages and facilities for the underprivileged in the Greater Jakarta area.
The event, hosted in the Hall of the Cahaya Madani Quran House, was inaugurated by Moh. Noor Awaluddin Asjhar, Head of LPM Dompet Dhuafa, who delivered the opening remarks.
“I appreciate all of you who have joined this training. You have dedicated yourselves to educating children, investing your time, effort, and knowledge to provide them with the best education possible,” Awaluddin expressed.

The training also featured the presence of H. Firdaus Alamhudi, Patron of the Cahaya Madani Foundation, and H. Arief Gunawan, M. Pd., who was one of the initial speakers presenting “Easy Ways to Teach the Quran to Children Using the Iqro Method.”
Additional topics covered included “Enhancing Skills and Developing Patience through the UKTUB Writing Method,” “Cultivating Noble Character through Contemplating the Quran,” and a “Sharing Session on Teaching Quran Memorization Using the Bayt Qur’ani Method.”
Erni, a participant, shared her experience during the training. She expressed her happiness.

She said, “I have been teaching for three years at the Indonesia Gemilang Foundation in Sawangan, Depok. The orphanage currently accommodates 25 children from elementary to high school, most of whom are orphans from the post-COVID-19 pandemic.”
“This training is extraordinary because it enables us to understand the best ways to teach the children. They often become bored with learning. Here, we discovered various interesting, creative, and innovative methods for teaching the Quran,” she concluded.
Another objective of this training event for Quran teachers is to establish a networking platform in the form of a forum for orphanages and facilities for the underprivileged in the Greater Jakarta area.
