Indonesian Students Ready to Stand By, Kawan FIKOM Gundar Hands Over Donations to DMC Dompet Dhuafa

TANGERANG SELATAN — Students from the Faculty of Communication Sciences (FIKOM) of Gunadarma University handed over donations for disaster management to the Disaster Management Center (DMC) of Dompet Dhuafa, at the DMC Dompet Dhuafa office, Ciputat Timur, South Tangerang, on Thursday (27/10/2022).

The donations collected are good intentions that arise when seeing Indonesia, which is being hit by natural disasters. Data collected by the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) as of October 27, 2022, recorded as many as 2,967 disaster events occurred in Indonesia. The breakdown of disasters is dominated by floods (1,207), extreme weather (920), landslides (545), forest and land fires (248), earthquakes (22), tidal waves/abrasion (21), and droughts (4).

This tapped the students’ hearts to jointly help their brothers and sisters in Indonesia to be strong and remain enthusiastic in facing disasters.

“We from Gunadarma University provide financial counseling for donations of victims of the Kanjuruhan tragedy and disaster. We used a door-to-door donation-raising system at the Faculty of Communication Sciences, Gunadarma University and took to the streets. We channel funds to DMC Dompet Dhuafa, which is an already large institution and also because we are confident in Dompet Dhuafa,” explained Andrian, one of the students of FIKOM Gunadarma University when met at the DMC Dompet Dhuafa office.
