Indonesia’s Goodness Collective Provides Medical Services in Gaza

PALESTINE — For 300 days, since October 7, 2023, the Palestinians have been subjected to crimes against humanity by the Israeli army. Until now, there is no sign that Israel will stop the actions that have claimed the lives of more than 40,000 Palestinians.

The difficulty of getting humanitarian aid in has also become a serious obstacle for the world community to help the Palestinians. However, this does not stop Dompet Dhuafa from trying to reach the victims. The Palestinians also have the right to live a decent life and have a safe place to live.

Thinking of them as brothers and sisters is an instinct and tradition for Indonesians. This assumption is also in the minds of Indonesian beauty brands, namely Whitelab, Trueve, Bonave to Goute, which are members of the Deca Group. Together with these beauty brands, Dompet Dhuafa collaborated in the form of Emergency Hospital Health Services among the people of Gaza who were victims of Israeli brutality.

On Friday (19/06/2024), Dompet Dhuafa through local partners has started the Medical Point operation. There have been at least 4,300 people who have benefited from the presence of this Medical Point, especially for people in North Gaza. Medical services were provided to children, women, adults, and the elderly.

“Because it is far from the existing medical services and secondly, during the Israeli invasion, the Indonesian Hospital and Kamal Adwan Hospital were under repair, so there is a need for another place for medical services. In addition, it also requires a large space for ambulance parking,” said Dompet Dhuafa’s local partner, Alfursan Palestinian Emergency Association (FPEA), Friday (06/19/2024) in North Gaza.

It is not an easy thing, efforts to obtain permission to establish this Medical Point continue to be carried out by Dompet Dhuafa’s local partners. Thanks to the hard work of local partners, Dompet Dhuafa managed to establish one Medical Point that was approved by the local government. Medical Point is very important because of the high need of the community for health services, with the main priority to save the patient’s life.

“Alhamdulillah, Dompet Dhuafa and collaborators, until now, continue to endeavor to be a connector of goodness for all friends. Keep praying that all efforts made are always blessed and given ease by Allah Ta’ala,” said Arif Rahmadi Haryono as GM Response and Advocacy Dompet Dhuafa in Jakarta, Friday (02/08/2024).

Standing at a location that is considered quite safe, FPEA as the implementing partner of Operation Medical Point mobilizes a competent medical team. Not only that, this operation also uses adequate medical equipment. One ambulance unit was also alerted there.

An ambulance unit from the Indonesian community is on standby to serve the Palestinian community in North Gaza and visit patients’ homes for medical treatment.

Although services are carried out centrally, the medical team will not be reluctant to visit the homes of patients who have problems mobilizing themselves. That’s where the role of ambulances is also very much needed.

“Thank you to Dompet Dhuafa for being a bridge for us so that we can help our brothers and sisters in Palestine. Hopefully the trust that has been conveyed by our customers can be channeled back by Dompet Dhuafa to help ease the burden on our brothers and sisters in Palestine, and can help ease their burden a little. We also hope that this act of kindness can continue and involve more people,” said Jessica, Co-Founder of Deca Group.

The needs of the Palestinians are still far from being met. Therefore, Dompet Dhuafa hopes that this kindness will not stop here. There are still 1.7 Palestinians who are displaced in this prolonged suffering. Let’s help them with your concern by donating through: digital.dompetdhuafa.org/donate/jagapalestina. (Dompet Dhuafa)
