BMKG also stated that most parts of Indonesia have the potential to experience extreme weather characterized by high rainfall and strong winds until mid-October 2022.
“The results of the analysis of the latest atmospheric dynamics show a cyclonic circulation that forms a pattern of wind turns and a slowdown in wind speed that can increase convective activity and rain cloud growth, then active atmospheric wave phenomena such as MJO (Madden Jullian Oscillation) which interacts with Equatorial Rossby waves and Kelvin waves can also indirectly increase the growth of rain clouds in several parts of Indonesia in the next few days,” wrote in an official BMKG release.

The Mayor of Bogor, Bima Arya Sugiarto, declared the Bogor area under emergency response status until December 31, 2022. The reason he set it until the end of 2022 was because a number of disasters occurred in the Bogor area. According to him, this is exacerbated by the fact that there are quite a lot of disaster-prone points in Bogor.
“It is certain that it is not intended to precede but it is certain that if the weather is extreme, high intensity, high volume, landslides will occur. Because these are vulnerable points, we set a disaster response status so that all are vigilant,” he added as given by Republika (13/10/2022). (Dompet Dhuafa / DMC)
