BEKASI, WEST JAVA – Dompet Dhuafa received an award certificate from the Ministry of Law and Human Rights of Indonesia (Kemenkumham) on Tuesday, 12/9/2023, at the Auditorium of the Class IIA Correctional Institution (LAPAS) in Bekasi. This award recognized the collaboration in the Bina Lapas Santri (BSL) Program run by Dompet Dhuafa’s Community Service Institution (LPM).
The certificate was signed by R. Andika Dwi Prasetya, Bc.I.P., S.Pd., the Head of the Regional Office of Kemenkumham in West Java. Muhammad Susanni, the Head of the Class IIA Correctional Institution in Bekasi, subsequently handed it directly to Ahmad Shonhaji, the Director of Social, Dawah, and Cultural Services (LSDB) at Dompet Dhuafa.
Ten other partner organizations also received similar award certificates. The ceremony was attended by structural officials, all the employees of the Class IIA Correctional Institution in Bekasi, and invited guests.

“The Bina Santri Lapas (BSL) Program by Dompet Dhuafa consistently offers guidance to the resident students. The activities include religious training aimed at molding the students into better individuals. The hope is that upon release, they will be able to adapt and contribute positively to society,” he elaborated.
Muhammad Susanni expressed hopes that through such activities, the bond between the Class IIA Correctional Institution in Bekasi and its partners would strengthen, facilitating the smoother operation of the Correctional Institution’s duties and functions.
“In performing its duties and roles, the Correctional Institution cannot function in isolation; it necessitates the combined efforts of the institution itself, the residents, and the broader community. One key contributor is Dompet Dhuafa, which provides religious guidance to the residents,” Muhammad Susanni emphasized in his remarks.

It’s noteworthy that the partnership between Dompet Dhuafa and the Class IIA Correctional Institution in Bekasi, focusing on moral and spiritual development, has been ongoing for over a decade. Currently, Dompet Dhuafa stands as the sole active partner in this endeavor.
Besides the Class IIA Correctional Institution in Bekasi, Dompet Dhuafa’s Bina Santri Lapas Program has extended its services and collaborations to 11 other Correctional Institutions and one Detention Center. This initiative benefits over 1,021 resident students. (Dompet Dhuafa/LPM/Ray/Muthohar)
