JAKARTA — As a form of concern for Lapor Lapar!, Dompet Dhuafa launched the Lapor Lapar! movement in the month of Ramadan 1445 Hijri. Taking the title ‘Not Rela They Hunger’, this movement is a forum for collaboration from various parties who want to realise welfare in the midst of Indonesian society.
Located at Yayasan Masjid Al-Ikhlas (YMAI) Cipete, South Jakarta, the launch of Lapor Lapar! was opened by remarks from the Chairman of the Dompet Dhuafa Republika (YDDR) Foundation Board Ahmad Juwaini, Monday (1/4/2024). He hopes that this agenda can become a forum for all parties who have one vision, namely the alleviation of hunger.
‘We believe that if we work together, hunger can be solved with the power we have. In this month of Ramadan, let’s start working together to overcome hunger. At least in our immediate area in Jabodetabek. Hopefully, in the future it can be implemented in many points in Indonesia,’ said Juwaini.

In the evening, the event continued with a discussion session with stakeholders who will be involved in the Lapor Lapar! movement. Also present were representatives from YMAI Maulfy Sanaullah, RW collaborators (RW 09 Cempaka Putih), representatives of the Nasi Jumat Community (SIJUM), representatives of PPJI (Association of Indonesian Catering Services), public figure Risty Tagor and Head of the Disaster Management Center (DMC) Arif Rahmadi Haryono.
Arif said that the basis for this movement was the welfare situation in the field. There are some people who are not included in the government’s social assistance scheme, but are classified as needy. On this occasion, continued Arif, Dompet Dhuafa will sew the initiatives of many parties to help people in need.
‘The Lapor Lapar! movement has been running for one and a half months. In the future, it will target 500 MSME restaurant partners, as well as 50 mosques and RW located in Jabodetabek. Today we are doing it at 10 points,’ said Arif.
Representative of Nasi Jumat (SIJUM) Community, Mira-owner of 150 free food stalls in Indonesia, shared the hunger situation on the ground that she often encounters. Some people are willing to travel long distances on foot to eat at her stall. She also encountered families who could not afford to buy food to break their fast during Ramadan last year. This proves that the problem of hunger is still common and crucial.
To alleviate this problem, Maulfy explained the role of mosques and RWs as social mapping, which is to monitor and collect data on the economic conditions of local residents. Then take concrete actions with other good collaborators.
Dompet Dhuafa also collaborated with public figure Risty Tagor to help solve this problem. According to Risty, this movement is in line with her sharing food every Friday. She hopes that this movement will not stop during Ramadan.

‘This moves my heart to eradicate hunger and carve smiles for those in need. Hopefully this will not only end in Ramadan, but will continue from month to month,’ he concluded.
After the sharing session, the stakeholders symbolically signed a statement of collaboration commitment on stage. While waiting for the time to break the fast, the Dompet Dhuafa Team together with Risty Tagor distributed free iftar food at one of Dompet Dhuafa’s partner MSMEs in Cipete, South Jakarta.
