Last Friday in South Korea, Congregation Invites Dai Ambassador to Culinary, Try the Delicious Haemul Jjamppong!

SOUTH KOREA — As we all know, South Korea is a country rich in culture, history, and of course, appetizing cuisine. Every corner in South Korea provides an unforgettable experience for visitors, especially for those looking for an authentic culinary adventure. There is one culinary experience that is so special for the Dai Ambassador Dompet Dhuafa assignment in South Korea, namely Ustaz Ihya. After praying Friday prayers (19/4/2024), Ustaz Ihya was invited by his congregation to enjoy Korean specialties, before returning to the country the next day.

After the Friday prayer, Ustaz Ihya and a number of congregants relaxed and chatted while taking a walk to the Goebuk Sijang Market area not far from the location of the mosque where the prayer was held. This event was unusual, as it not only aimed to explore the beauty and richness of South Korea’s culture, but also to enjoy one of its legendary specialties, Haemul Jjamppong.

Haemul Jjamppong is a legendary dish in South Korea. It is a spicy noodle dish with an abundance of seafood. With its thick soup and rich spices, Haemul Jjamppong has stolen the hearts of culinary connoisseurs around the world. On that occasion, Ustaz Ihya along with the congregation had the opportunity to enjoy the delicacy of the legendary dish.

The journey began at a traditional restaurant hidden amongst the glittering streets of Incheon City. As soon as they arrived, the fragrant aroma of spices and fresh seafood immediately pierced their noses. They were also warmly welcomed by the friendly restaurant owner. He happily invited Ustaz Ihya and his entourage into the restaurant.

The atmosphere in the restaurant was warm and homely with simple wooden tables. They sat together around a large table, ready to enjoy Haemul Jjamppong. Ustaz Ihya, sitting in the center, had a warm smile that portrayed his enthusiasm and excitement.

Before long, plates of tantalizing Haemul Jjamppong were served on the table. Its fiery red color and spicy aroma instantly got the saliva flowing. Eagerly, they began to eat the dish with gusto.

During the meal, the warm and friendly atmosphere made them share stories and laughter. Lighthearted conversations about the beauty of South Korea, as well as unforgettable culinary experiences, graced the dining table. In the midst of all this, Haemul Jjamppong remained the undisputed main star.
