SOLO, CENTRAL JAVA – Free Health Services (LKC) Dompet Dhuafa Central Java signed a collaboration with the Midwifery Study Program, Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS). This collaboration aims to strengthen academics’ roles in the creativity and sustainability of stunting elimination programs in Central Java.
On Wednesday (1/2/2023), the Director of LKC Dompet Dhuafa Central Java, Titi Ngudiati, and the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine of UNS, Prof. Dr. dr. Reviono, Sp.P(K), signed the cooperation manuscript in Meeting Room I, Building A, Faculty of Medicine UNS.
Representatives from both parties were also present, including the Senior Officer (SO) of the Dompet Dhuafa Health Division, Sifing Lestari, Deputy Dean of Planning, Business, and Information Cooperation of the Faculty of Medicine of UNS, Dr. dr. Selfi Handayani, M.Kes, Head of the Undergraduate Study Program and Midwife Professional Education, Head of the Applied Midwifery Undergraduate Study Program and BIUN Program Implementer, Dr. Grhasta Dian Perestroika, S.ST, M.Kes, and Niken Bayu Argaheni, S.ST., M.Keb.

In his remarks, the Head of LKC Dompet Dhuafa Central Java said that as a zakat institution, Dompet Dhuafa, through the health sector empowerment program, is committed to improving public health, one of which is in the role of stunting elimination. Collaboration and synergy with various parties to give birth to innovations in accelerating stunting elimination.
“This collaboration is a continuation of the Bidan Inspiratif Untuk Negeri Program, as a joint effort to involve academic friends to eliminate stunting through the REKIS innovation initiated by friends from the Obstetrics Study Program of FK UNS,” said Titi.

Meanwhile, Prof. Dr. dr. Reviono, Sp.P(K) stated in his speech that the signing of this agreement is a means to promote public health by enlisting academics in research and community service.
“I hope that this collaboration will result in a variety of activities that benefit both sides, especially the community,” Prof. Reviono stated.
Reviono also hopes both parties will be more active, creative, and innovative in implementing various public health improvement programs.
Dompet Dhuafa and Kimia Farma organized the BIUN program as a midwife innovation project. This program focuses on attempts to reduce stunting on a provincial level through program innovation-based interventions and the empowerment of midwives in target areas.
With this collaboration, the BIUN program’s Resilience of Mothers with Stunted Children or Resiliensi Ibu dengan Anak Stunting (REKIS) initiatives are expected to be conducted on broader objectives in Central Java Province, even at the national level.
