WEST NUSA TENGGARA – For three days door to door, Dompet Dhuafa through Cuma-cuma Health Services (LKC) West Nusa Tenggara held health screenings at several Healthy Post points. Reaching 260 beneficiaries, this service was carried out on September 11, 12 and 17, 2024.

The executor of LKC’s Community Health Empowerment (PKM) program in NTB, Midwife Ridhoatul Istiharah, said this activity aims to improve the Non-Communicable Disease (NCD) screening program in NTB. The residents were checked for blood pressure, blood sugar levels, uric acid, and cholesterol.

“The purpose of this activity is to maximize the screening target at Pos Sehat,” she said.

This activity was organized in collaboration with Al-Ishlahuddiny Health Vocational School and local cadres. According to Midwife Ridhoatul, this activity received a positive response from the puskesmas, cadres, and village officials.

“The health screening activities carried out by Dompet Dhuafa are in line with the government’s efforts to improve public health status. By providing easy and affordable access to health services, it is hoped that the number of sufferers of non-communicable diseases in NTB can be reduced,” he said.

In detail, LKC has served 40 residents at Teluk Gok Healthy Post, 140 residents at Cemare Healthy Post, 30 residents at Gunung Ketapang Healthy Post, and 50 residents at Medang and Gresak Healthy Post.

This health screening activity is very important because non-communicable diseases often do not show symptoms at the beginning. With early detection through screening, the community can take early prevention and treatment, so that quality of life can be maintained. Participants who are detected to have health problems are then advised to consult a doctor further.

“I am very grateful for this screening activity. I know that my blood pressure is a bit high. Thanks to this examination, I can immediately consult a doctor and maintain my health better,” said one of the screening participants.
