SOUTH SULAWESI — On Wednesday (28/6/2023) afternoon, the Dompet Dhuafa Tebar Hewan Kurban (THK) Team arrived in Pangkajene and Islands (Pangkep) to deliver a sacrificial cow from a Dompet Dhuafa donor. Unexpectedly, the day’s conditions forced the team to leave at night with limited lighting. This is done so that the next day the residents of Village, Pangkep can feel the sacrificial animal’s blessings.
The journey takes 2.5 hours. The THK Dompet Dhuafa team had to walk a rocky road and climb. The sacrificial cow was pulled towards the rock track and uphill. In addition, in the middle of the trip, the car boarded by the team was forced to stop. Because, the road conditions are slippery because of rainwater. Although there were not a few obstacles, but thanks to the help of local residents, the cow finally arrived safely.
Dompet Dhuafa Super Volunteer, Aliah L Sayuti and the South Sulawesi Dompet Dhuafa Team also joined the trip that night. Upon arrival in Buung Village, the Dompet Dhuafa Team was welcomed by Muhammad Arif as the Head of the local RW. Arif said that the residents of Village also found it difficult to access the road outside the village, because they had to pass through unpaved stone roads. If residents do not have motorbikes, they have to walk as far as 6 km to the market.

The next day, Thursday (29/6/2023) morning, the coolness of Buung land was even more pronounced when the chanting of takbir from the Raodah Mosque echoed as if calling the congregation to perform the Eid prayer. After the prayer, the slaughtering and distributing the sacrificial herwan was carried out led by the slaughter master.
Sacrificial meat is divided equally into 53 houses in Buung Village consisting of 78 heads of families (KK). The community also seemed happy with the presence of the Dompet Dhuafa Sacrificial Animal Stocking Program (THK) in Buung Village. In fact, Mrs. Sahroh came from the top of the mountain, she went down to the sacrificial point to get beef.
Aliah L Sayuti as a Super Volunteer of Dompet Dhuafa also distributed sacrificial meat to the homes of needy residents. One of them was sacrificial meat given to Mrs. Muliyani (50).
“Buung Village rarely receives sacrificial meat, only from Dompet Dhuafa can we eat meat,” said Muliyani.

Mrs. Muliyani and her husband lived a difficult life. Their lives depend on their profession, namely as farmers. Not infrequently, they experience crop failure due to lack of water. Finally, they made sense to farm corn and peanuts so that they could be planted during the dry season.
According to Syahril Ramli as PIC THK Dompet Dhuafa South Sulawesi, Pangkep Village has difficulty accessing roads and only depends on agricultural products. This village is considered worthy to receive sacrificial animals at THK in 2023.
In addition to Pengkap Regency, there are still 24 points in 9 other regencies and cities that receive Sacrificial Animal Stocking (THK) benefits covering remote, remote, marginal, and vulnerable areas of malnutrition. Until Thursday (29/6/2023), a total of 164 sacrificial animals equivalent to doka will be distributed.

The team plans to go to the second point on the island of Sakuala, Pangkep, South Sulawesi. The point is reached by boat with a travel time of about 45 minutes from land. For that, please pray from all Good Friends so that the Dompet Dhuafa Team can reach that point and distribute sacrificial animals to the residents of Sakuala. (Dompet Dhuafa/Fitin/Ronna)
