JAKARTA – Millions of people gathered at Monas (the National Monument) for the Major Action to Defend Palestine on Sunday (5/10/2023). The Mobile Kitchen Program (Darling) of the Community Service Agency (LPM) Dompet Dhuafa was present, distributing mineral water, bread, cakes, fruits, and energy drinks right in Monas square. Since 04:00 WIB, the Darling Foodtruck fleet had been on the Monas grounds to serve the public participating in the Major Action to Defend Palestine.
This action represented a solidarity movement joined by all elements of society across different religions. The event began with a long march from Monas to the HI Roundabout and then back to Monas. On the main stage, various Key Opinion Leaders (KOL) and national figures participated in the action. Among them were Jusuf Kalla, the 10th and 12th Vice President of Indonesia; Puan Maharani, the Speaker of the Indonesian House of Representatives; Anwar Abbas, Deputy General Chairman of the MUI; KH Cholil Nafis, Head of Da’wah and Brotherhood at MUI; and several Cabinet Ministers.

M Noor Awaluddin Asjhar, the Head of LPM Dompet Dhuafa, stated that as a humanitarian institution, Dompet Dhuafa continues to support our brothers and sisters in Palestine.
“This form of service to the people participating in the action aims to energize and encourage them. Hopefully, with our joint efforts and prayers, we can continue to strengthen the struggle of our brothers in Palestine,” he said.
The presence of Darling amid the public’s enthusiasm for voicing their defense of the Palestinian nation’s struggle was well received by those present at Monas. Among them was Liserawati, along with her friends, who were pleased to queue for food in front of the Darling Fleet.
“Thank God, hopefully, this is a blessing, so we’re not going hungry. We are from the tilawah group in Serua, Ciputat,” she said.
Additionally, Ismail and his family, who were very enthusiastic about participating in the Major Action to Defend Palestine, were met after getting food from the Darling truck. Ismail urged the community to show concern for Palestine.
“I, along with my children and wife from Tanah Abang, came by motorcycle. We are here to show our care for our brothers and sisters in Gaza, Palestine,” Ismail stated.
“Seeing the condition of our brothers there, it is very concerning and saddening. May our brothers always be granted patience and strength and be protected by Allah SWT. Hopefully, this activity brings benefits and wisdom to all of us,” he added.

In addition to Darling, the Bersih Itu Sehat (BIS) Program also participated in the Major Action to Defend Palestine. Dozens of volunteers, divided into several groups, were tasked with moving through the crowd to collect and gather leftover food waste.
