CENTRAL JAVA — The people of Tajur Lor Hamlet, Pancurendang Village, Ajibarang District, Banyumas Regency, were shocked by the news that one of the entrances to an illegal gold mine in the village was submerged in water. The reason is, that there are still 8 miners trapped in the mine, including CS (29), MR (38), AJ (29), MK (32), MR (32), MH (44), JM (33), ML (40).
Based on reports from Basarnas Cilacap and BPBD Banyumas, it is known that the eight miners started mining activities on Tuesday (25/7/2023) at 20:00 WIB. Then it was known that there was water seepage at other mining sites until the excavated pit that was having mining activities was filled with water.
This situation is exacerbated by the excavated pit which is quite steep, even the miners also have to crawl to enter which makes the water fill the hole faster. Then at 23:00 WIB, it was reported that the exit of the mine was full of water with the condition that the eight miners were still trapped.

Responding to the news, Dompet Dhuafa Central Java immediately sent a DMC (Disaster Management Center) Team to help evacuate trapped miners and prepare the volunteers on standby. The DMC Dompet Dhuafa Central Java team heard the report on Tuesday (25/7/2023), since then, they have immediately coordinated with BPBD Banyumas and Basarnas Cilacap to help evacuate miners.
In addition to joining and being directly involved with related agencies in evacuation efforts, DMC Dompet Dhuafa Central Java is also on standby by building a Health Post for medical examinations for volunteers and victims, as well as a warm post to support volunteer and survivor activities in the field.
The Health Emergency Response (Respon Darurat Kesehatan (RDK)) of the Free Health Service (Layanan Kesehatan Cuma-Cuma (LKC)) of Central Java also continues to take action in response to the disaster of the hoarding of eight traditional gold miners (musibah tertimbunnya delapan penambang emas). Until this news was published, it had been eight days since the miners were trapped in the dug pit.

Titi Ngudiati as Head of LKC Central Java said, RDK LKC Central Java opened a Medical Post under the coordination of DMC Dompet Dhuafa. The DRC team also conducts periodic checks for volunteers still struggling to evaluate victims from Bogor, West Java.
