PEKALONGAN, CENTRAL JAVA — “This is the first time I tried to go home by motorcycle. When I arrived in Pekalongan, there was an incident where my motorbike broke down. It didn’t want to start the engine,” said Ali, one of the travelers who crossed the Pekalongan route, Thursday (20/4/2023).
Ali departed from Cikarang on Wednesday (19/4/2023) night at 20.00 WIB, going to his hometown in Pati. Arriving in the Pekalongan area, there was a problem with the motorcycle engine.
“Very confused early in the morning, there are still many workshops closed, for the first time (going home) using a motorcycle. I am in the city, and I do not know the area. I tried to contact my family, but no one answered,” Ali explained.
“Pushing the motorbike 1 kilometre while asking residents, told that a Dompet Dhuafa opened a motorbike service in the Al Karomah Mosque Rest Area. Thank God, it’s a relief,” he admitted again.
To the Dompet Dhuafa Team, Ali said this Homecoming Service Post was beneficial, especially in the precarious situation he was experiencing. He hopes that this program can be present outside the month of Ramadan and that the location point of the Service Post to be expanded.

“There are benefits for the surrounding community as well. Let alone my rich traveler. Deliberately intend to go home on a motorbike because I want to go home. I miss my mother!” said Ali happily.
No more than an hour after his motorcycle was serviced by the Dompet Dhuafa Institute of Independence (IK) team, Ali also checked the preparation and condition of his vehicle and then immediately continued the meaningful journey for him. (Dompet Dhuafa/Dhika Prabowo)
