PALEMBANG, SOUTH SUMATRA — Over the past 82 days, ten thousands of Palestinian people have become martyrs due to the brutal Zionist Israeli attacks in Gaza. Thankfully, the world continues to care and rally solidarity for an immediate ceasefire in Palestine. The Indonesian community also continues to voice their support for Palestinian independence. Not just voicing their support, Indonesians are also generously donating their resources to gather aid for Palestine, including the students, educators, and all members of SMA Negeri 4 Palembang.
SMA Negeri 4 Palembang took concrete action by delivering donations as aid for Palestine through Dompet Dhuafa South Sumatra on Monday (11/12/2023). The donation was received directly by Reza Pratama, a Fundraising Staff of Dompet Dhuafa Sumsel, at SMA Negeri 4 Palembang.

This donation amounting to IDR 15,000,000 was the result of fundraising conducted by the students and teachers at SMA Negeri 4 Palembang. This act of care was initiated in response to the difficult conditions still being experienced by the Palestinian community affected by the conflict since October 7, 2023.
The donation handover ceremony was attended by all students and teachers at the SMA Negeri 4 Palembang field. In front of the students and teachers, Drs. H. Damri, M.M., M.Pd., the Principal of SMA Negeri 4 Palembang, handed over the aid for Palestine directly to Dompet Dhuafa.
Nurhadi, a teacher at SMAN 4 Palembang, expressed gratitude to Dompet Dhuafa for acting as an intermediary in channeling this aid.

“We would like to thank Dompet Dhuafa for kindly distributing the funds we collected from the students at SMA Negeri 4 Palembang for humanitarian aid. This money will be sent to Gaza, Palestine, hoping it will be beneficial for our Muslim brothers and sisters and families affected by the genocide. We hope that this fund will be smoothly distributed to its intended recipients,” said Nurhadi, moved.
This solidarity action for Palestine is concrete proof that the concern of all community elements, including students and teachers at SMAN 4 Palembang, can have a positive impact in alleviating the suffering of others around the world.
