GUNUNG KIDUL, YOGYAKARTA — Together with the Yogyakarta Dompet Dhuafa group, Mr. Jarwo and Benu Buloe flocked to the 1445 H Ramadan “Grebek Kampung” in Katongan Village, Nglipar, Gunung Kidul, Wednesday (3/20/2024). The musician and culinary host of the Kompas TV program Cerita Rasa, along with the Dompet Dhuafa group, also brought “seserahan” (a traditional gift) in the form of agricultural products from the Zakat Management Partner (MPZ) Dompet Dhuafa Yogyakarta, namely KyBar Tani Mandiri, for food ingredients that will be processed together by the residents of Katongan Village as a communal iftar menu.
The residents of Katongan Village warmly welcomed the arrival of the Dompet Dhuafa “Grebek Kampung” group that afternoon. They worked together to prepare and cook in the Aloe Land Education Village, a cultivation area and aloe vera plant industry house, which is an economic empowerment program that grows with the synergy of Dompet Dhuafa Yogyakarta‘s productive zakat management with stakeholders.

Yes, “Grebek Kampung” is an effort by Dompet Dhuafa in the month of Ramadan to educate the public about the role of Zakat, Infak, and Wakaf (Ziswaf) in the form of economic empowerment programs such as aloe vera cultivation in that place. Dompet Dhuafa’s big dream in managing Ziswaf funds is to constantly build and care for the empowerment of the poor and underprivileged community.
While Benu Buloe was busy cooking with local residents, Mr. Jarwo had the opportunity to explore the activities of the aloe vera plant factory that has the “Rasane Vera” brand in Aloe Land. Starting from harvesting, processing, to packaging. In addition, Mr. Jarwo also went door-to-door to help distribute Ramadan parcels containing basic food packages and Tebar Zakat Fitrah (TZF) rice.
Mrs. Jainem, an elderly beneficiary and widow, was immediately touched by the arrival of Mr. Jarwo and Dompet Dhuafa, who distributed Ramadan Parcels for her.
“At that time, my late husband had an accident and had to undergo expensive treatment, we couldn’t afford it. Here I live with my children, grandchildren, and my son’s husband. He works as a vermicelli maker,“ she said softly to Mr. Jarwo.
“Alhamdulillah, the blessing of Ramadan is that I get lots of groceries, now nothing is expensive. Thank you, may it be a reward for all of you,” Jainem said, smiling.
During the month of Ramadan, “Grebek Kampung” is one of Dompet Dhuafa’s efforts to maximize the collaboration of kindness. It also includes a variety of holistic activities ranging from TZF, distribution of Ramadan Parcels for orphans and honorary teachers, Sharing the Breaking the Fast Menu, and Religious Studies, all included in the agenda. Making the beneficiaries, program drivers, and partners of goodness get to know each other more closely under the big theme of #RamadanMendekatkan (#RamadanBroughtUsCloser).
“This Grebek Kampung (Village Sweep) is enlivened by a variety of activities, including a performance by musician Mr. Jarwo and the culinary host of Cerita Rasa Kompas TV, Benu Buloe. The presence of Grebek Kampung is expected to encourage and improve public literacy about the benefits of Ziswaf fund management. Because proper Ziswaf management will foster economies of empowerment based on MSMEs and da’wah in an effort to equalize community welfare, “said Muhammad Zahron as Branch Manager of Dompet Dhuafa Yogyakarta.
After the time for religious study, it was time to break the fast together. After the Tarawih prayer, Mr. Jarwo NAIF enlivened Grebek Kampung with his hits such as “Titipan Sahabat”. The song encourages the community to help each other in goodness and to honor orphans together with Dompet Dhuafa.

I am very impressed to see firsthand the variety of Dompet Dhuafa programs with capable Ziswaf governance. So that it fosters programs such as Aloe Vera Land as well as Ketaman (Community Food Security) Kybar Tani Mandiri. I am also impressed to be able to directly distribute Ramadan Parcels and ZISWAF to the community here,” Mr. Jarwo admitted.
Apart from ‘Grebek Kampung’, Dompet Dhuafa’s efforts to reach the target of one million beneficiaries in Ramadan 1445 H also present a variety of other programs that are continuously rolled out such as Free Homecoming, Homecoming Posts, Fidyah, Sharing Supper Packages, Qur’an Alms, Orphans Alms, Ramadan Parcels, Family Fighters THR, Takjil Distribution, Merchandise Purchases, Alms for Worship Facilities, and Ramadan Aid in Palestine.

Store, Paradise Palagan Residence, Green Hills Residence Mosque, and the Yogyakarta Dompet Dhuafa Office located on Jalan Madubronto, Patangpuluhan, Wirobrajan. The presence of this service is expected to bring the community closer and make it easier for them to consult and distribute their Ziswaf.
