RIAU ISLANDS — Dompet Dhuafa Kepulauan Riau held a wholesale action for Nusantara Carts in Batu Aji, Batam City on Sunday (9/4/2023). The Nusantara Wholesale Cart Program is a simultaneous action of Dompet Dhuafa in every province in Indonesia. The program aims to help cart traders in Batu Aji by risking their wares to be distributed to the surrounding community as takjil before breaking their fast.
Dompet Dhuafa Kepri targeted two traders where one of the vendors sold various takjil in front of the Fortuna minimarket and the other sold fruit juice in front of SDIT At-Taubah. The total spent to buy the two merchandise is Rp1,000,000 (one million rupiah).
“If you haven’t finished every day until 7 o’clock, half past 8 just go home. If you pray Maghreb in this mosque, If it’s quiet, sometimes the merchandise is brought to the house, sometimes it’s done to people, sometimes it’s divided into people who sell it again,” said Diah, a seller of various takjil.
After buying takjil and juice, the Dompet Dhuafa Kepri Team continued distributing the takjil to children, students, and parents around the At-Taubah Mosque.
“The hope is that this kind of thing can be held regularly every year, yes, risking MSME merchandise,” hoped Beni, a fruit juice seller.
