JAKARTA — Armed with the same goal of overcoming the problem of stunting, the North Jakarta City Government (Pemkot Jakut) is collaborating with Dompet Dhuafa, running the Jakarta Moving to Overcome Stunting or Jakarta Beraksi Program. On Wednesday (27/9/2023), the North Jakarta Municipal Government and Dompet Dhuafa held a “Kick Off Implementation of the Jakarta Beraksi Program” in Penjagalan Village, Penjaringan District, North Jakarta.
General Manager (GM) of Dompet Dhuafa’s Health Division, dr Yeni Purnamasari, MKM, revealed that the purpose of this program is to prevent stunting by providing nutritious food with a balanced menu.
“The ‘Jakarta Beraksi’ program aims to prevent stunting in children and focuses on assistance efforts, especially in the first 1000 days of life. We have implemented this program in September and we will start the program by providing nutritious food with a balanced menu from October to December. So, a total of 66 days in accordance with the standards set by the Ministry of Health,” said Yeni.
North Jakarta Administrative City Secretary, Abdul Khalid, revealed that there were 327 stunting cases in the North Jakarta area and 33 toddlers were targeted.
“It was initiated by the Association of Indonesian Shopping Center Processors (APPBI) and Dompet Dhuafa as the obligator. In the North Jakarta area, there are 327 cases related to this collaboration program and 33 toddlers are targeted. This program lasts for 66 days, starting from September 20. Furthermore, monitoring will also be carried out to the target every two weeks,” Abdul said.
In the health sector, Dompet Dhuafa has a healthy area-based program in collaboration with various parties that focuses on preventing stunting. This health program is run by Dompet Dhuafa’s Free Health Services (LKC) in 12 provinces, one of which is DKI Jakarta.

“The Jakarta Beraksi program is in line with the stunting eradication and prevention program. We certainly hope to strengthen the efforts that have been made by the government. In this case, the Government of Indonesia targets 2024 to reduce the stunting rate in Indonesia to 14%, from the Indonesia Nutrition Status survey in 2022 of 21.5%. And also stunting is not a nutritional problem that occurs acutely, but a nutritional problem that occurs chronically, so we also realize that the participation and support of various parties is needed in this effort,” said Yeni.
Furthermore, Abdul Khalid also hopes that the objectives of this program can be achieved well.
“Once again, we thank APPBI for providing assistance in the Pejagalan area for 66 days. And Dompet Dhuafa as an obligator, wants to work well together. Hopefully this is the initial plan and what we want is achieved,” concluded Abdul. (Dompet Dhuafa/Syafira)
