Jakarta – Dompet Dhuafa and Seratan Studio held an art craft training workshop at the Jakarta Humanity Festival (Jakhumfest) 2023, Sunday (29/1/2023) at Pos Bloc, Pasar Baru, Central Jakarta. There are 2 (two) kinds of training held, namely painting and embroidery.
A total of 25 participants who were visitors to Jakhumfest participated in this workshop in the painting session. Meanwhile, the other 25 participated in the embroidery session. The speaker of this workshop was directly by Deya Ayu, the Founder of Seratan Studio.
Deya said she was happy to be able to pass on her knowledge to Jakhumfest visitors. She wants more and more people to be able to adapt their knowledge and pass it back on to others.
Meanwhile, Ferina, as the Seratan Creative Team explained, Seratan and Dompet Dhuafa held this creativity stand to introduce the exhibition of Seratan products. There are dyed fish, clothes, tote bags and others.
“We hope that with this workshop, the visitors who attend are interested in becoming a creative community and can teach others as well,” she said.
The hope is that this training can attract young people of the millennial generation and gen Z. Furthermore, they can develop this knowledge into souvenirs for other crafts.
“Dompet Dhuafa hopes that today’s training can hopefully be socialized to the surrounding community, especially for millennial children because the materials are easy to get and natural,” said Fajar Firmansyah, Coordinator of Dompet Dhuafa Volunteer.
One of the workshop participants, Sarah Margareth from Jakarta, said this skill could be beneficial for teaching young children who like handicrafts, primarily if it is taught to younger siblings in small community communities such as Community Reading Parks (TBM) and others.
“Thank you very much to Dompet Dhuafa and Seratan for holding this workshop. We are happy. We can finally try to heal by painting, and it’s enjoyable. It is simple, but I think it’s very positive,” Sarah Margareth from Jakarta said. (Dompet Dhuafa/Muthohar)
