JAKARTA — Located at Lulu Hypermarket, BSD, Saturday (07/27/2024), Dompet Dhuafa again held Belanja Bareng Yatim as a form of concern and the spirit of sharing. Held in the month of Muharram, which is one of the holy months in Islam, it is hoped that this event can bring happiness and smiles to orphans. As well as, providing the love and attention that they have longed for.
Belanja Bareng Yatim this time feels even more special, because it was successfully organized thanks to the collaboration between Dompet Dhuafa, PT Bank Syariah Indonesia Tbk (BSI), and Lulu Hypermarket. Cooperation with BSI allows the provision of assistance to be more significant and organized. While support from Lulu Hypermarket, ensures that the daily needs of orphans are met with quality products.
Adam, a 6th grade student, also took advantage of this moment to buy a Qur’an, a unique choice and different from his other friends. Yes, of the many items available, Adam chose the Al-Qur’an. The reason was because his Al-Qur’an had been damaged.
“Earlier I was shopping for the Qur’an along with some groceries, because for the Quran and the old one was damaged, the paper was falling off. So Adam bought a new Al-Qur’an,” Adam said.

Furthermore, before buying a Qur’an he first opens the Qur’an to be selected. Sheet by sheet he checked to make sure there were no defects.
“I was choosing, looking around to see whether it was good or not. Then if it was good, I took it. I’m really happy, because I can read the Qur’an,” Adam said while looking through the Qur’an.
Currently, Adam has reached juz 9. He likes to recite the Quran because he wants to be able to always pray for his father who has left him for two years.
“I have reached juz 9, I also read the Quran diligently to be able to read prayers for my father. The prayer is Al-Fatihah, then Adam prayed that he could enter heaven. Adam likes to miss, when he misses Adam, he prays for Bapak,” said Adam.
Alhamdulillah, Adam is one of 20 selected orphans who can shop for basic necessities to support their daily lives. Besides Dompet Dhuafa, BSI also collaborated with six Amil Zakat Institutions (LAZ).
The number of orphans who participated in this event reached 140 people and came from various LAZs. The seven LAZs are BSI Maslahat, Dompet Dhuafa, DT Peduli, Griya Yatim and Dhuafa, LAZISMu, Rumah Yatim, and Rumah Zakat.
SEVP Digital Banking BSI, Saut Parulian Saragih, said that BSI wants to give orphans the experience of shopping with BSI which is also a financial friend, social friend, and spiritual friend for others.
In this month of Muharram, BSI and LAZ work together to provide shopping opportunities at supermarkets using BSI services, namely BSI Mobile and QRIS. This appreciation is also a form of gratitude for the achievement of Orphan Donation transactions in BSI Mobile which has raised funds of IDR 3 billion.
“To increase the benefits for the community, some of BSI’s strategies in increasing Ziswaf collection in BSI Mobile include working with LAZ partners verified by the Ministry of Religion. BSI also provides a menu of thematic donation programs needed by the community and conducts a campaign to increase Ziswaf awareness in BSI Mobile,” concluded Saut.
