Partnering with Dompet Dhuafa, DSNI Amanah sends prepared food aid to the Palestinians

Bantuan DSNI Amanah untuk Palestina

KHAN YOUNIS, SOUTH GAZA — The suffering of Palestine is the suffering of all of us. Until this article was published, the genocide committed by Israel against Palestine has taken a huge toll. 33,899 people were killed, 76,664 people were injured, 360 thousand houses were damaged, and 1.7 million people were displaced (the latest data from Dompet Dhuafa’s Disaster Management Center/DMC, April 19, 2024). This condition is even more concerning, because 60 percent of the overall victims are dominated by civilians, children and women.

In addition to the massive casualties caused by the attacks, the Palestinians are suffering from food shortages. As a result, many of them suffer from acute malnutrition, even death, especially for vulnerable groups such as minors and the elderly. In fact, the attacks continue despite the holy month of Ramadan.

Seeing this condition, as one of the National Amil Zakat Institutions that focuses on humanitarianism, DSNI Amanah in synergy with Dompet Dhuafa distributed donations in the form of 1,000 meal packages distributed in March 2024.

The meal packages were distributed for the needs of iftar for Palestinians in the Khan Younis and Rafah areas. The donation from DSNI Amanah was distributed by Dompet Dhuafa by cooperating with local partners who have worked with Dompet Dhuafa.

The current emergency needs of the Palestinians include clean water, food packages, hygiene kits, medicines, fuel for hospitals, and ambulances. Various efforts that have been made by the Dompet Dhuafa DMC Team include distributing medicines and medical equipment and sending 3,000 liters of fuel to Kamal Adwan Hospital, food distribution, distribution of 5,000 packages of daily necessities in Deir Al Balah, Rafah, and Khan Younis, medical services in refugee area hospitals, sending two units of South Gaza ambulance service, assisting 200 refugee shelter units in Rafah, as well as iftar and suhoor packages in the Gaza Strip.
