JAKARTA — Perkumpulan Penyelenggara Jasa Boga Indonesia or PPJI DKI Jakarta (Association of Indonesian Food Service Providers DKI Jakarta) collaborated with DKI Jakarta Provincial Government, Taman Mini Indonesia Indah (TMII), Dompet Dhuafa Volunteer (DDV), Perpapindo, and Rumah Lebah Peduli Nusantara organized ‘Remember: Ramadan Meriah Penuh Berkah’ (Cheerful Ramadan, Full of Blessings) event at Sasana Kriya Building, TMII on Sunday (9/4/2023).

Attended by around 783 orphans/dhuafas/hafizh (people who memorise Quran), 100 volunteers and 350 people of society, the activity took place from 01.00 PM to 07.30 PM West Indonesia Time.

“Ramadan is a month of remembrance, for friendship and sharing. Remember raises the concept of nostalgia together in memories in the golden years of children’s songs. In this activity, in addition to breaking the fast together, spaces were also given for orphans, dhuafas, and the Qur’an memorizers to participate in art performance competitions at the beginning of the event. They performed various creations such as dances, poems, angklung performance, memorization of the Qur’an, and others.

Event Director of Remember, Fajar Firmansyah, said that the activity aimed to popularize and reintroduce children’s songs from the 2000s to the children and all parties involved. It also became a creative forum for hundreds of orphans, dhuafas, and Qur’an memorizers in Jabodetabek.

“We carried the theme of nostalgia of old songs in the present, such as songs from Tasya, Sherina, and Trio Kwek-kwek, because at this time, it feels like a crisis of children’s songs. So in addition to sharing and breaking the fast together, Remember is also an artistic and creative event for 783 children who are present to perform their creations,” explained Fajar.
