JAKARTA — On Saturday (30/3/2024), at the Bamadita Rahman Foundation Hall, Lubang Buaya, Cipayung, East Jakarta, as many as 160 orphans gathered to take part in the ‘Sharing Charity and Breaking the Fast Together’ activity. This event was initiated by the Citibank Muslim Family (KMC) and Dompet Dhuafa.
Also attending the event were Mohamad Yassin Tadjoedin as Chairman of KMC, Ahmad Faqih Syarafaddin as General Manager of ZIS Collection of Dompet Dhuafa, and H. Ir. Galuh Pang Perwirawan as Supervisor of Bamadhita Rahman Orphanage Foundation. To enliven the event, the students performed hadrah and chanted selawat when opening the Sharing and Breaking the Fast event.
‘We would like to express our deepest appreciation to KMC and Dompet Dhuafa for the donation to our children. Because we know, everyday friends are professional workers, but today KMC and Dompet Dhuafa colleagues can provide more benefits from some of the sustenance of KMC donors to our orphans. Hopefully it will be a blessing in stepping up to plant goodness,’ said Orphanage Foundation Supervisor Bamadita Rahman in his speech.
KMC friends who were present, also donated directly to the orphans and poor children who were present there. Approaching the time to break the fast, the activity was filled with tausiah by Ustaz M. Aris Alwi from Corps Dai Dompet Dhuafa (Cordofa). After performing the Maghrib prayer in congregation, all participants held a gathering by eating together.
‘Hopefully this gathering can continue to strengthen each other. In addition to bukber, Sahabat KMC wants to share kindness. In this month of Ramadan, we can continue to increase our worship to Allah and remind each other in goodness,’ said Mohamad Yassin Tadjoedin.
Dompet Dhuafa continues to strive to be a transparent and accountable institution, so that it always gains the trust of the community. This trust increases along with the increase in donations entrusted to Dompet Dhuafa. Likewise, the trust of the beneficiaries with various programmes run.

Dompet Dhuafa’s GM of ZIS Collection, Ahmad Faqih Syarafaddin, explained that the event was part of KMC and Dompet Dhuafa’s cooperation programme for joint KMC charity held in several areas of Jabodetabek, Semarang, Surabaya, and Sidoarjo. The event is one of the steps of the empowerment programme or zakat, infaq and sadaqah donations collected from KMC members. Dompet Dhuafa itself has been collaborating with KMC for 12 years.
‘Not only compensation, there is also employee zakat from KMC which is submitted to Dompet Dhuafa for Education, Health, and Disaster Programmes. Thank you KMC for continuing to consistently channel their zakat to Dompet Dhuafa in the future to add benefits as a consistency of KMC’s existence,’ he said. (Dompet Dhuafa)
