BOGOR, WEST JAVA — The economic downturn in the country is increasingly felt ahead of Ramadan 1445 AH, as the prices of basic foodstuffs have skyrocketed. In fact, the need for basic food is the main priority for many families, especially those in need. The spike in food prices during Ramadan also creates a difficult challenge for them. Seeing this condition, Dompet Dhuafa’s Community Service Institution (LPM), in the spirit of #RamadanMendekatkan, distributed Ramadan Parcels to the elderly and poor people in the Jabodetabek area.
Ramadan parcels were also distributed to pillars of society who are dedicated to teaching and fighting for Islamic values, such as Quran recitation teachers, mosque imams, and marbot. The pre-Ramadan distribution began at Al Ikhlas Mosque, Cidokom, Gunung Sindur, Bogor, on Friday (8/3/2024).

Head of LPM Dompet Dhuafa, M. Noor Awaluddin Asjhar, said that this parcel distribution activity was carried out as an effort by Dompet Dhuafa to help ease the burden on the community to meet basic needs during worship in the month of Ramadan.
‘It is a blessing beyond measure, if we can help those in need. Especially in this good month, hopefully we can all worship well and help many people in need,’ said Awaluddin.
Apart from the Bogor area, these parcels were also distributed to the elderly and poor, Quran teachers, mosque imams, and marbot in the Jl Masjid Daruttaqwa area, Krukut, Limo, Depok, on Thursday (14/3/2024).
Ramadan is a glorious month filled with blessings. One good deed will be rewarded many times over. So people are competing to do good in various ways. Especially sharing with those who are in dire need. In every kindness that is distributed, there is warmth and joy that flows, signalling that Ramadan is indeed full of blessings and brings happiness to those in need. Wawan Sutiandi, a Quranic teacher at Al-Ikhlas Mosque, Cidokom, also felt the goodness of Ramadan Parcels. He admitted that he was happy for this programme.
‘Alhamdulillah, we are very happy and happy. Thank you to Dompet Dhuafa for providing Ramadan Parcels. Hopefully it will be useful for all of us,’ said wawan.
In order to make #RamadanMendekatkan feel even closer, the distribution of similar programmes also continued to Depok, Jakarta, and Bekasi areas during the month of Ramadan 1445 H. Alhamdulillah, until now there have been a total of 250 Ramadan Parcel beneficiaries spread across Jabodetabek, with a total of 50 parcels per region. (Dompet Dhuafa/LPM)
