PAYAKUMBUH, WEST SUMATRA — The artist and humanitarian volunteer, Chiki Fawzi, also performed at the Sound of Humanity (SOH) Dompet Dhuafa X Sitapa Fest in Payakumbuh, on Sunday December 24, 2023. Amidst the drizzle during her performance, Chiki Fawzi auctioned off a piece from her artsy fashion brand, Chikigo.
“All proceeds from the auction will go to Palestine through Dompet Dhuafa. This jacket is different from what we sell on our e-commerce, with added ‘Free Palestine’ and ‘Ceasefire Now’ patches on the front. Finished with airbrushing. Artsy!” exclaimed Chiki Fawzi during the auction.
“Silence is not an option. I will not stop supporting Palestine! If there’s any humanity left, we will find it in Palestine!” Chiki Fawzi declared.

Alhamdulillah, the auction, which initially reached IDR 2 million, was then raised to IDR 5 million by Ade Renti, the buyer of Chiki Fawzi’s piece. As Chiki Fawzi conducted the symbolic handover of the auctioned jacket, Ade acknowledged that Chiki Fawzi’s actions were very inspiring for creativity, as well as beneficial in doing good.
“I’ve been following Chiki for quite a while, inspired by my child who is also inspired by Chiki. What she does is inspiring for us. To create in goodness. Her works are beautiful and her goodness benefits many people. I hope through this auction, I can help contribute to Palestine and make my child happy,” Ade confessed.
That night, a total of IDR 24,082,654 was collected in humanitarian donations for Palestine through SOH Dompet Dhuafa X Sitapa Fest. Apart from West Sumatra, SOH was also held concurrently in Jakarta and Labuan Bajo, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT).

In addition to Chiki Fawzi and Panji Sakti, there were other music performances, poetry reading nights, MSME bazaars, discussions, cabaret dramas, and more. During a talk session, Dompet Dhuafa also introduced the DD Apps, a digital application by Dompet Dhuafa designed to facilitate community donations and channel the flow of goodwill.
SOH X Sitapa Fest took place over two days, from 23–24 December 2023. Collaborating with Dompet Dhuafa Singgalang Branch and Folka Cultura Space, the event was held in the only pine forest area in Talang, Nagari Sikabu-kanu, Tanjung Haro, Padang Panjang (Sitapa) in West Sumatra, which is also an area developed through the Dompet Dhuafa Singgalang economic empowerment program.
“This event is a way to voice humanitarian issues, especially the current situation in Palestine. Showing that various art forms can also package gathered concerns and become a beneficial resonance,” explained Hadi Bandarian, Branch Manager of Dompet Dhuafa Singgalang. (Dompet Dhuafa/Dhika Prabowo)
