Redeeming Judandi’s Diploma, Orphaned Youth with Many Talents

BOGOR – Judandi Supriadi Susanto (20), a young man born in Bogor, has just received a diploma from SMK Taruna Budi Bangsa, Bogor. His diploma was held back due to cost constraints. She briefly worked as a film extra and freelancer designer after high school to try to redeem her diploma and make ends meet

The student from Jakarta completed his education last year (2021). However, there are obstacles in the cost, so they cannot take the diploma. Not giving up hope, Dandi worked hard to pay off his arrears at school to get his diploma.

“I am looking for money to pay off the fees by becoming a futsal and Paskibraka (Flag bearer) coach at other schools. Although it is not much, it can help a little,” explained Dandi.

Dandi was the 5th of 7 children. Four of her siblings have died since childhood, leaving Dandi and her 2 older siblings. Unfortunately, his brother died 4 years ago. Leaving Dandi and his 1 brother who had settled down.

After both of his parents died, Dandi lived with his adoptive parents. Despite living together, Dandi never asked his parent for money. “I never asked for a parent lift. Even if it is given, I try to refuse because I can make money alone and don’t want to trouble them,” he said.

On Tuesday (25/10/2022) morning, based on the donor’s mandate, the Dompet Dhuafa Community Service Institution (LPM) team invited Dansi to his SMK alma mater for a greeting with the Principal represented by the student affairs sector. How happy Dandi is after meeting the Principal, he finally got a diploma. The school was also happy and helped by Dompet Dhuafa.

“We strongly support the diploma redemption program from Dompet Dhuafa, because not all children are in a position to be able to complete arrears, especially in these two years we really feel the impact of Covid-19 so that many have difficulty taking their diplomas,” said Muzaky as the student field of SMK Taruna Budi Bangsa.

Muzaky also hopes that the cooperation with Dompet Dhuafa can continue. “We hope this cooperation can continue because actually in this school there are some children who are in arrears a lot and cannot take their diplomas,” concluded Muzaky. (Dompet Dhuafa / Muhaitsam)
