JAKARTA – The President of the Republic of Indonesia, Joko Widodo (Jokowi), dispatched humanitarian aid for Palestine at the Halim Perdanakusuma Air Force Base, Jakarta, on Saturday (4/11/2023). The 51.5 tons of humanitarian aid from the Indonesian people will be transported by three aircraft to El Arish Airport in Egypt.
“Indonesia’s aid for the Palestinian people will soon be sent to El Arish Airport in Egypt. From there, it will be forwarded and distributed to Gaza,” President Jokowi stated.
The Disaster Management Center (DMC), a special disaster management unit from Dompet Dhuafa and a member of the Indonesian Humanitarian Alliance (IHA), also contributed to the aid for Palestine.

“The Indonesian Humanitarian Alliance (IHA) hopes that all the aid will arrive safely, and the Palestinian people can receive this assistance as soon as possible,” said Prima Hadi Putra, the Director of Communication and Technology at Dompet Dhuafa, at the Halim Perdanakusuma Air Force Base, on Saturday (4/11/2023).
Dompet Dhuafa donated 1,000 mattresses, 660 adult blankets, and 1,000 baby blankets.
“In the future, God willing, we will continue to provide aid in the form of food, health, water, energy sources, and more,” explained Arif Rahmadi Haryono, the Chief Executive of DMC Dompet Dhuafa, after attending the dispatch of the aid.

According to the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA), as of Friday (3/11/2023), there were 9,257 Palestinian casualties, including 3,826 children, 2,405 women, and 460 elderly. Meanwhile, 23,516 Palestinians were injured. Seventy percent of the victims are children and women.
Additionally, 2,100 residents, including 1,200 children, are reported missing or presumed to be still under the rubble of buildings. This tragedy is the result of Israel’s prolonged and structural occupation.
As of Friday (3/11/2023), there are 1.4 million internally displaced people in Gaza. Nearly 672,000 people are living in temporary tents, each of which now exceeds three times its capacity. This crisis is exacerbated by the lack of electricity supply for 21 consecutive days.

More than 35,000 Palestinian homes, 253 educational facilities, 11 food stores, 14 hospitals, 51 medical service centers, 25 ambulance fleets, 20 sanitation facilities, 54 mosques, and 3 churches have been completely destroyed.
Attending the dispatch of this humanitarian aid were the Minister of Foreign Affairs Retno LP Marsudi, Minister of Defense Prabowo Subianto, Minister of Health Budi Gunadi Sadikin, Chief of the National Police General Pol Listyo Sigit Prabowo, Commander of the Indonesian National Armed Forces Admiral Yudo Margono, and the Ambassador of Palestine to Indonesia, Zuhair Al-Shun.
