LUBUK LINGGAU – Dompet Dhuafa and Matahari again synergized to provide support for educational activities. This support is in the form of distributing 100 packages of school kits and hygiene kits for elementary school students in Lubuk Linggau, South Sumatra, which took place on Friday (20/09/2024). The distribution of this assistance was held at the SIT Mutiara Cendekia Convention Hall, Jogoboyo, Lubuk Linggau.
The beneficiaries of this program consist of students from 18 elementary schools spread across 6 sub-districts of Lubuk Linggau City. Among others, Lubuk Linggau Utara I, Lubuk Linggau Utara II, Lubuk Linggau Barat I, Lubuk Linggau Barat II, Lubuk Linggau Timur I, and Lubuk Linggau Timur II. The students were accompanied by their principals and teachers.
The distribution of 100 School Kit and Hygiene Kit packages was attended by Matahari Management represented by Matahari Lubuk Linggau, Dompet Dhuafa Team, as well as the Management and Board of SIT Mutiara Cendekia Foundation.
Present at this moment, the Management of Matahari Lubuk Linggau: Henny as Store Manager of Matahari Lubuk Linggau, Debby as Store Assistant of Matahari Lubuk Linggau, Bernard as SPV Personnel of Matahari Lubuk Linggau, and Dika as SPV Visual of Matahari Lubuk Linggau, as well as 10 SPG Team of Matahari Lubuk Linggau. Meanwhile, Dompet Dhuafa was represented by Dian Sukma Riany as the Partnership Team of Dompet Dhuafa and Asep Irama as the representative of Dompet Dhuafa South Sumatera Lubuk Linggau Unit. The distribution of assistance to students was also assisted by Matahari Management and also the Matahari SPG Team who were present to enliven and help this event.

The management of Pelita Taqwa Education and Da’wah Foundation (the foundation that manages SIT Mutiara Cendekia) was attended by Ir. H. A. Firdaus Azis, MM (Opa Firdaus) as Chairman of the Foundation Trustees, Dra. Hj Med.Vet. Retno Trapsilowati, MM (Oma Retno) as Chairperson of the Foundation, Drh. Adila Widyaratih, M.Si as Treasurer of the Foundation Board, Dr. H. Umar Diharja, SP., M.AP (Abi Umar) as Director of Education of SIT Mutiara Cendekia, Head Adi Sucipto, S.Pd (SDIT Mutiara Cendekia Lubuk Linggau) and Abdiansyah as Head of SMPIT Mutiara Cendekia, teachers and staff, and students of SDIT Mutiara Cendekia Lubuk Linggau as performers.
In her speech, Henny as the Store Manager of Matahari Lubuk Linggau, explained that the 100 School Kit and Hygiene Kit packages distributed at SIT Mutiara Cendekia with Dompet Dhuafa are the result of donations from Matahari customers throughout Indonesia during Ramadan 1445 H (February-April 2024).
“During the Ramadan period, Matahari’s customers throughout Indonesia participated in a customer donation program whose distribution was managed by Dompet Dhuafa. In 2024, this Customer Donation program is focused on the education and health of children in Indonesia,” he explained.
Dompet Dhuafa South Sumatra Unit Lubuk Linggau representative, Asep Irama, in his speech explained the reason why Lubuk Linggau was chosen as the location for the delivery of aid. Because, there are many elementary school-age children who need this assistance. This data is based on coordination with the Dompet Dhuafa volunteer team who are alumni of the Dompet Dhuafa Indonesian Teacher School (SGI) Program.
This was also conveyed by Dian Sukma Riany as Partnership Dompet Dhuafa, “So before the delivery of this assistance, we were assisted by the Dompet Dhuafa South Sumatra Team to assess prospective recipient children with the category of orphaned / poor elementary school children aged 6-12 years. With the delivery of School Kit and Hygiene Kit assistance, hopefully it can help and encourage children to go to school”.
Dian Sukma Riany also explained that the handover of this assistance was carried out thanks to collaboration with MC Peduli and was held at SIT Mutiara Cendekia because there were alumni of the Dompet Dhuafa SGI Team who taught at SIT Mutiara Cendekia.
“We (Dompet Dhuafa), Matahari, and SIT Mutiara Cendekia with MC Peduli, seem to have the same vision to help these children in need. They were very enthusiastic in accommodating the location, gathering the children, and making it easy for us to hold this event. This program was initiated by Dompet Dhuafa and Matahari as a form of implementation of the kindness program with Matahari Customer Donation February to April 2024. The focus is on education and health for children. Hopefully this assistance can help empower children to become a quality generation of the nation,” he explained.

This moment of distribution was also filled with Ustaz Dersa Subarta’s tausiah on “Imitating the Prophet Muhammad Rasulullah Saw”. Among the traits of the Prophet Muhammad that are important for us to emulate are his forgiving spirit and honesty. This theme was raised because a few days ago we just commemorated the Maulid of the Prophet Muhammad.
“By always emulating these two traits, God willing, we will live in peace and always have ease in this world and the hereafter,” said Ustaz Dersa Subarta.
On the same occasion, Abi Umar as Director of Education of SIT Mutiara Cendekia also delivered his speech. He emotionally recounted his struggle for success to the students present.
“Never think that our limitations today mean we don’t have opportunities. Don’t let limitations prevent us from reaching our dreams. Come on, pursue your dreams. Do whatever is your task today to the best of your ability. Don’t forget to keep your intention strong to give the best for your parents. Because by giving the best to your parents, that is the key that can make you successful people in the future,” explained Abi Umar.
Abi Umar also hopes that the social activities of Matahari, Dompet Dhuafa, and MC Peduli will not stop here. Hopefully the collaboration will continue so that the benefits of kindness are not only felt by students of PAUDIT, SDIT, and SMPIT Mutiara Cendekia, but also by children in Lubuk Linggau from other schools.
