BEKASI, WEST JAVA — Dompet Dhuafa together with digital e-commerce partner, Shopee, distributed food package donations through the Shopee Sharing Food Program at Ashogiri Baitut Taqwa 3 Bekasi Islamic Boarding School (Ponpes) on Monday (14/10/2024). Ashogiri Baitut Taqwa 3 is a boarding school that shelters orphans and poor people for free located on the corner of KH Mas Mansyur Street, about 5-6 kilometers from the center of Bekasi City.
Through the Shopee Sharing Food Program, the students who attended were able to taste a box of rice and nutritious side dishes, with a piece of chicken being their meal that afternoon. In addition to the students, this program also targeted residents and communities around the Ponpes. A total of 238 food portions have been distributed to the students and the community around the boarding school.
The community welcomed this assistance enthusiastically, their eyes sparkling with hope as they waited for their turn to get the food packages. Students such as Ali Fairuz, Dimas Saputra, Ahmad Luthi, gathered to immediately enjoy the food packages. The atmosphere of togetherness was warm, interspersed with laughter. With gusto, they ate the food packages.
Luthfi said that usually the boarding school staff only cooked fish and tempeh, rarely chicken. But that day, he and his friends were able to enjoy a piece of fried chicken.
“I got chicken for lunch. I’m really happy to get chicken, usually eat fish tempeh, depending on what the ustazah cooks, I’m really happy so I immediately eat it,” he told the Dompet Dhuafa team.

The administrator of the orphanage, Ustaz Muhammad Febrian Al Farizi, expressed his deepest gratitude to Dompet Dhuafa.
“Thank you very much for Dompet Dhuafa and Shopee, hopefully in the future it will be more successful and more blessed. Seeing from their (children’s) faces that they are happy, I as an administrator here am also happy, “said the young man who is called Ustaz Izi.
Shopee Berbagi Makanan is a program initiated by Shopee and Dompet Dhuafa, by inviting users to share kindness with those who are less fortunate. Through this program, it is hoped that the concern and empathy of Shopee users will grow towards others. Providing a positive impact through food distribution to those in need.

Jamaludin, Dompet Dhuafa’s Digital Partnership Team, revealed that the collaboration between Dompet Dhuafa and Shopee includes providing services for donations through the Shopee application, which of course makes it easier for Shopee application users to take part in broadcasting kindness.
“Dompet Dhuafa collaborates with Shopee by presenting a donation service feature in the Shopee application to make it easier for users to share kindness. One of the good programs carried out by Dompet Dhuafa and Shopee is donations for the Shopee Berbagi Makanan program,” Jamaludin said. (Dompet Dhuafa)
