JAKARTA — The Tebar Hewan Kurban (THK) program has been carried out by Dompet Dhuafa since 1994. This program helps distribute qurbani meat evenly, reaching areas in need throughout the country. These areas include underdeveloped areas, rural areas, and areas that have never tasted qurbani meat, as well as areas prone to disasters and conflicts.
As a humanitarian organization, Dompet Dhuafa will also distribute some of the qurbani animals to other countries in need. In this case, the Palestinian people who are currently experiencing difficulties due to the humanitarian violence that occurred.
According to The United Nations World Food Programme-the world’s largest humanitarian organization-for emergencies and using food aid to recover from conflicts, disasters, and the effects of climate change, malnutrition among children is increasing rapidly, and one in three children under the age of two is now acutely malnourished or wasted.

As a result of this humanitarian tragedy, many people lost their lives. They include children, women, the elderly, the wounded and the dead. The dire condition of the people of Gaza, Palestine, has drawn the concern of the world community. The sense of humanity of the people of Indonesia is called upon. In fact, this incident continued during the month of Ramadan 1445 AH.
In more than 200 days, since October 7, 2023, the number of people in Gaza facing famine has doubled in less than three months. From 570 thousand in December to 1.1 million people today. This problem inspires Dompet Dhuafa to carry out THK in Palestine on Eid al-Adha 1445 AH/2024 AD, which has also been carried out in previous years.

Bobby P. Manullang, Chairman of Tebar Hewan Kurban (THK) 1445 H Dompet Dhuafa, explained why Dompet Dhuafa distributes sacrificial animals there. First, because humanitarian values are not limited by demographic or geographic barriers. So, where there is a humanitarian case, someone should take responsibility to help solve the problem.
Then, Dompet Dhuafa’s involvement in the management of sacrificial animals abroad compared to within the country is small. However, it must still be distributed as a form of Indonesian concern for humanitarian cases that occur in other countries.
Therefore, it can be said that qurbani through the Dompet Dhuafa Qurbani Animal Distribution Program brings a lot of happiness to many parties, both those who perform, those who receive, and the qurbani breeders.
