JAKARTA — On Monday (20/3/2023), Dompet Dhuafa through Corps Dai Dompet Dhuafa (Cordofa) held a ceremony for the Release of 24 Dai Ambassadors to 14 countries during the Ramadan month 1444 H. Located at Gedung Philantrophy, Jl. Warung Jati Barat, Jati Padang, Pasar Minggu, South Jakarta, the Dais were released directly by the Chairman and Secretary of Dompet Dhuafa Republika Foundation, Rahmad Riyadi and Yayat Supriyatna.
These Dai Ambassadors of Dompet Dhuafa will go to spread da’wah to various parts of the world, some of them are Australia, Thailand, the Philippines, Hong Kong, Japan, Malaysia, New Zealand (MAZ), New Zealand (HUMIA), Noumea, France, the Netherlands, Taiwan, Timor Leste and Suriname.
Dai Ambassador itself is a Layanan Dakwah Dompet Dhuafa (Dompet Dhuafa Da’wah Service) program that targets Islamic societies abroad by spreading Islam, especially syiar about Zakat, Infak, Alms and Waqf (Ziswaf).
In his remark, Rahmad Riyadi said that knowledge about Ziswaf in various countries, especially Muslim minority countries, was still minimal. Thus, Dai Ambassador is here to be a bridge in spreading Ziswaf and other Islamic teachings more massively.
“Because perhaps the knowledge about zakat for some of our people is still uncommon to them, therefore it is the duty of Dompet Dhuafa to be able to broadcast this more massively. That’s why we, one of what we said earlier, that we want the knowledge about religion, as well as about these teachings, we want to show them to our brothers and sisters,” explained Rahmad on Monday (20/3/2023).
Meanwhile, according to Ustaz Ahmad Shonhaji as Director of Social, Da’wah, and Culture Services of Dompet Dhuafa, the da’wah program which is carried out for one month abroad is expected to be able to spread Islamic values that are Rahmatan Lil Alamin to all corners of the world.
“In strengthening the mindset of universal Islamic teachings in the global world, Dompet Dhuafa becomes one part of the da’wah institutions which also contributes to the strengthening of Islamic creed and sharia in several countries,” said Ustaz Ahmad Shon Haji.

In addition, the Dai Ambassadors on duty later are expected to build networks with da’wah partners and multi-stakeholders, as a strengthening of the Dompet Dhuafa network in the international arena. The Dai Ambassadors are also expected to be able to explain to the public about the values of Dompet Dhuafa and the concept of Ziswaf which is implemented and managed into something tangible through the five pillars of the Dompet Dhuafa program, namely Education, Health, Social, Economic, Da’wah and Culture.
“The Ziswaf managed by Dompet Dhuafa has become a model of approach programs in our 5 pillars, and the most important thing is how the friends remain consistent in holding the principles of wasathiyah (central characteristic of Islamic creed), and Dompet Dhuafa is independent, nonpartisan, nonpolitical. These values must be conveyed to the society,” added Ustaz Ahmad Shonhaji.
The Dai Ambassador release ceremony was carried out by handing over the da’wah attributes in the form of Dai Ambassador pins and jackets which were carried out directly by Rahmad Riyadi and Yayat Supriatna to two Dai Ambassador representatives.

One of the selected Dai Ambassadors is Ustaz Engkos Kosasih. Previously, he was assigned to become a Dai Ambassador and this year he will be dispatched to Thailand. As a representative, he stated that he is ready to spread da’wah abroad.
“We 24 people are ready to spread da’wah which ends up being for the people, even though in our hearts there are all feelings but we delete them, but insyaallah, for the sake of da’wah, we leave our families temporarily, but hopefully in the future, for a month we will be calm, can be professional, convey da’wah messages, especially Ziswaf. Please pray for us, the 24 people, to return home safe and sound,” said Ustaz Engkos. (Dompet Dhuafa/Anndini)
