JAKARTA — The situation in Gaza is getting worse. Since the attack on 7 October 2023, Israel has caused 85 per cent of Gazans in Palestine to flee with a lack of water, food and medicine. This inhumane massacre may stop, but deaths will continue to increase due to mass starvation.
The holy month of Ramadan is supposed to be a blessing for Muslims. However, this is not the case for our brothers and sisters in Gaza.
This moved Dennis Hartanto Wijaya, the owner of PT Pesona Indah Kosmetik (Wetcode) and PT Sinthe Utama Indonesia (Sammora). He and his company decided to help ease the burden of the people of Gaza in Palestine by donating money.
According to him, the events happening in Palestine are no longer about religious and racial issues, but humanitarian issues that are a shared responsibility. Dennis hopes that other people will also empathise with the dire situation in Gaza.
‘This is no longer a SARA (ethnicity, religion, race and intergroup) issue, but a humanitarian issue. Helping the people of Gaza is a shared responsibility. Hopefully this assistance can be useful for the people there,’ said Dennis.
The donation was handed over at Philantrophy Building, Pasar Minggu, South Jakarta, on Wednesday (20/3/2024) with Utammi Sri as Senior Officer Partnership Dompet Dhuafa.

Through Dompet Dhuafa, Dennis’ cosmetic brand is committed to standing with the people of Gaza.
‘Hopefully the donation from Mr Dennis can ease the burden on our brothers and sisters in Gaza. May this be an inspiration for all of us,’ said Utammi.
Dompet Dhuafa itself has successfully distributed donations in the form of staple food for residents in three points in the Gaza Strip. Namely in the Rafah border area, Khan Younis City in the Southern Gaza Strip, and Deir Al-Balah City in the Central Gaza Strip. (Dompet Dhuafa)
