PALEMBANG, SOUTH SUMATRA – Benefit recipients of the GenZAKAT Literacy Scholarship from Dompet Dhuafa South Sumatra conducted an inspiring educational visit to the Sultan Mahmud Badaruddin II Museum on Sunday (August 20, 2023).
This visit was carried out to provide a deeper understanding of the history and culture of Bumi Sriwijaya. Additionally, it aimed to inspire the benefit recipients to enhance their learning.
The Sultan Mahmud Badaruddin II Museum was chosen as the destination because it houses numerous collections that record the glorious history of Sriwijaya. The journey of Sriwijaya is a crucial part of Indonesia’s cultural heritage.

This historic location served as an appropriate place for the scholarship recipients to reflect on history, draw lessons, and gain wisdom from the past achievements for a better future.
The GenZAKAT Scholarship recipients from Dompet Dhuafa South Sumatra were encouraged to explore various artifacts and information within the museum.
Furthermore, this visit aimed to provide inspirational stimulus to the benefit recipients in terms of developing their writing skills.
Dahlia Oktamia, a Staff Member of the Education Program at Dompet Dhuafa South Sumatra, explained that through educational visits like this, GenZAKAT Terbit Dompet Dhuafa Sumsel is committed to nurturing a generation that is not only proficient in literacy but also possesses a strong understanding of their culture and history.
