ACTNews, LABUAN BAJO, EAST CENTRAL NUSA — After Eid al-Fitr 1444 AH passed, Eid al-Adha is a big moment that Muslims are waiting for. In this moment, Muslims are encouraged to sacrifice animals such as camels, cows, sheep, or goats. This act of worship is not only for Him alone, but it also brings extensive benefits to the entire community.

When performing qurbani, one also brings happiness to those who have never tasted the joy of qurbani meat. Especially those in the outermost, remote, and underdeveloped (3T) areas. Through the Tebar Hewan Kurban (THK) Program, Dompet Dhuafa seeks to reach those, our brothers and sisters who have never had the pleasure of eating meat for their daily meals.

The day of Eid-ul-Adha 1444 H might have felt different for the humanitarian activists or volunteers who won the Schoolunteer event organized by Dompet Dhuafa Volunteer, influencers, media, and donors.

This time, they also experienced the distribution of Dompet Dhuafa’s Tebar Hewan Kurban (THK) Program in the “Sharing Leave” Qurbani Voluntrip to Messah Island, Labuan Bajo, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT), precisely in Pasir Putih Village.

Eight cows were entrusted by Dompet Dhuafa donors to be distributed to the people of Messah Island to realize #SatuKurbanBanyakKebaikan. The meat from the eight sacrificial animals was then distributed to all the people of Messah Island, as well as the people of Rinca Island and Papagarang Island adjacent to Messah Island.

“On Messah Island itself, there were 2,146 people or 604 families who benefitted. Then in other parts of the island such as Rinca and Papagarang, the total beneficiaries are around 900 families. In accordance with the theme of THK 2023, namely #OneKurbanManyKindness, hopefully a lot of goodness can be given to many people,” said Fajar as the Coordinator of the Qurbani Voluntrip on Messah Island.
