BANGKOK, THAILAND — On Friday (15/3/2024), just a few minutes after the Friday prayer, Dompet Dhuafa 2024’s Dai Ambassadors, Ustaz Zulfirman and Ustaz Novi Maulana Yusup were asked to attend the Indonesian Embassy Office to meet with the Indonesian Ambassador in Thailand, Rachmat Budiman.
Accompanied by the Ramadan Chairman of Masjid As-Safir, Mr Dedi, Sofian, and Sulaiman, the preachers entered the Embassy office, which is quite simple, but neat and clean.
Shortly after the preachers waited in the waiting room, they were then called to enter a special meeting room. The preachers were received and warmly welcomed by the Indonesian Ambassador in Thailand. There was a look of enthusiasm in the ambassador’s eyes.
Based on information obtained by the preachers, Rachmat Budiman has entered a fairly old age. Even so, he is still strong enough to play football for 2 x 45 minutes and also often plays tennis.
When meeting the Dompet Dhuafa Dai Ambassadors, the Indonesian Ambassador in Thailand had a special message for the preachers. He asked the preachers to bring the mission of Islam which is rahmatan lil ‘alamin to the people in the White Elephant Country. Do not create discomfort in the midst of the people the preachers meet.
‘Preach by example and gentleness. Learn everything that is good from the place where the preachers are assigned. Not only religious issues, but also educational, social, and cultural issues, as long as they do not contradict the noble teachings of Islam. With the hope that what is obtained can be applied and developed in the area of each preacher, ‘Rachmat Budiman advised the Dompet Dhuafa Ambassadors assigned to Thailand.
Not only that, there are still many other things that were also conveyed by the Indonesian Ambassador in Thailand. Starting from his anxiety to see the condition of Muslims in several countries that do not reflect the teachings of their religion, including in Indonesia, to the issue of cleanliness which is always an important point in every message.
After the Ambassador delivered his message, it was the turn of the Dai Ambassadors to convey the important points they brought while carrying out da’wah duties in Bangkok, Thailand. Afterwards, the dai handed over souvenirs from Dompet Dhuafa to the Indonesian Ambassador in Bangkok.
Ustaz Novi Maulana Yusup hopes that the presence of Dompet Dhuafa Ambassadors in Thailand, especially around the Indonesian Embassy in Bangkok, can bring benefits to all. The meeting which lasted for approximately 90 minutes then ended with a group photo session.
