PARAMARIBO, SURINAME — Suriname is a Dutch colony located in South America. Although Suriname is geographically far away from the country, it seems close. Why? Because the Javanese tribe dominates there. A total of 15 percent of Surinamese citizens or around 590,855 people are Javanese.
The Dompet Dhuafa Dai Corps (Cordofa) with a commitment to serve with the heart, again sent a competent preacher to preach there during Ramadan 1445 H. He is Ustaz Ach Fauzi, originally born in Wonosobo, Central Java. Ustaz Ach Fauzi was chosen because he has a mother tongue that is certainly not so different from the daily language of the Surinamese people, namely Javanese.
The effort to serve those in need and also maintain and build partnerships in Suriname is the goal of Dompet Dhuafa in sending preachers there. With a journey that is not short, Alhamdulillah, Dompet Dhuafa’s Dai Ambassadors arrived in Suriname with warm hearts and full of gratitude.
Ustaz Ach Fauzi’s activities while in Suriname were not much different from most preachers, namely serving religious consultations, gathering with community leaders, to conducting cultums and leading prayers. In fact, Ustaz Ach Fauzi also received a warm welcome from the Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia in Paramaribo, Republic of Suriname, Julang Pujianto.
All these efforts are made for the sake of Ziswaf da’wah that continues to flare up to the country of Suriname. This also makes Cordofa’s commitment to continue to benefit our brothers and sisters who are far away. May our good endeavours in carrying out the mandate always be facilitated by Allah Swt.
