KABUL, AFGHANISTAN — On the occasion of Tebar Hewan Kurban (THK) Eid al-Adha 1444 AH, Dompet Dhuafa together with Noor Education & Capacity Development Organization (NECDO) slaughtered five cows equivalent to 200 kilograms of meat in Kabul, Afghanistan.
Starting on the 5th of Dhu al-Hijja 1444 AH, five days before the sacrifice, the NECDO team made preparations for the sacrifice. Starting from selecting quality cattle, mobilizing the slaughter team, choosing the location, to packing the meat.
On the day of the qurbani, Thursday (29/6/2023), or on 10 Zulhijah 1444 AH, the NECDO Team slaughtered and distributed the meat to 700 poor families, orphans, single parents, and people with disabilities. Each received two kilograms of beef. The distribution was done by going door to door to the beneficiaries’ homes.

Since 2015, NECDO has been trusted to carry out Ramadan and Eid al-Adha programs in various provinces of Afghanistan and benefit hundreds of families in need.
“NECDO would once again like to thank Dompet Dhuafa for the trust given to us to slaughter and distribute qurbani meat on Eid al-Adha 1444 H. We will be happy to remain its partner in the future, God willing,” said one of the NECDO representatives.

Dompet Dhuafa has 30 years of experience in hosting the THK Program. Starting from alleviating the deficit of qurbani meat in remote areas of Indonesia, THK expanded its target to conflict areas abroad. THK has become a symbol of hope for humanity. 2002 was the first time Dompet Dhuafa implemented THK in Afghanistan as a response to the impact of the humanitarian conflict there.
“Alhamdulillah, THK can be implemented in Afghanistan. Qurbani is a moment of closeness, a symbol of friendship between brothers and sisters. Hopefully it will be useful and a blessing for the beneficiaries there,” said Arif Rahmadi Haryono as GM of Strategic Alliance and Advocacy of Dompet Dhuafa.
Alhamdulillah, thanks to the kindness of Dompet Dhuafa’s donors, the victims of the humanitarian crisis in Afghanistan were able to eat qurbani meat on Eid al-Adha. Sharing kindness across countries, your qurbani is always delivered. (Dompet Dhuafa)
