BANGLADESH — For 30 years, Dompet Dhuafa’s Tebar Hewan Kurban (THK) has distributed qurbani meat in areas of poverty, disaster and humanitarian conflict. The coverage is not only domestic, but also overseas. Alhamdulillah, on the occasion of Eid al-Adha 1444 H, coinciding on Thursday (29/06/2023), Dompet Dhuafa collaborated with ANTAR Society for Development – a partner of Dompet Dhuafa engaged in the humanitarian field, to hold THK in Bangladesh.
Bangladesh is one of the poorest countries in the world with a population exceeding one hundred and fifty-three million. The majority of its citizens are unemployed, living in critical conditions, suffering from poverty and natural disasters such as floods and cyclones. Since 2015, ANTAR has distributed qurbani meat in remote villages. This is certainly a good opportunity to increase the level of protein consumption there.
In 2023, Dompet Dhuafa managed to distribute five sacrificial animals in the form of cows to 1500 people. The beneficiaries are poor people who cannot afford to buy meat for their family members, including women and children. In addition, ANTAR also distributed qurbani meat to two Islamic boarding schools inhabited by 500 poor students.

“The residents and students here almost never consume meat. They (all students at the pesantren) pray to Allah that Dompet Dhuafa is successful and gets more support to do good in the future. Allah is good. The residents also expressed their gratitude to Dompet Dhuafa. Therefore, they can consume meat on Eid al-Adha this year,” said Abdullah Al Mohiuddin as ANTAR representative.
In previous years, Dompet Dhuafa had distributed aid to the people of Bangladesh, but the COVID-19 pandemic was a challenge in itself and all assistance was delayed. Alhamdulillah, THK was successfully held on Eid al-Adha 1444 H in Bangladesh. For the sake of humanitarian solidarity and efforts to alleviate poverty, your qurbani is always delivered.
