SUKABUMI — Ahead of Eid al-Adha 1444 H, Dompet Dhuafa deployed a Quality Control (QC) Team for sacrificial animals to farms in the Sukabumi region, West Java, on June 5-7, 2023. There, the Dompet Dhuafa QC Team checks the quality and ensures the availability of doka (domba/kambing or sheep/goat) sacrificial animals for the upcoming Eid al-Adha.
In the process, the QC Team and the Riung Mukti Cooperative (Dompet Dhuafa’s assisted livestock empowerment partner since 2009), carried out technical health condition checks, measured and/or weighed weights, and sorted sacrificial animals in cages.
This is done so that sacrificial animals follow the provisions of Islamic law and Dompet Dhuafa standards in implementing the 2023 Sacrificial Animal Stocking Program (Program Tebar Hewan Kurban (THK) 2023). Also, overseeing the trust of donors/sacrificers who sacrifice through Dompet Dhuafa so that they always #SatuKurbanBanyakManfaat.

Quality Control of sacrificial animals is carried out at many locations in Sukabumi. Among others in Pulosari Village, Palasari Girang Village, Adununggal Village, also Batu Gajah Village, Kalapanunggal District.
“We do QC of sacrificial animals in several cages scattered in several points of the village in the Sukabumi region. With a QC target of 385 doka (domba/kambing or sheep/goat) animals. The area is beautiful with many rice fields, hills, and highlands, so the air is cold,” said Ghufron, the National Da’wah Team of Dompet Dhuafa as THK QC Coordinator in Sukabumi, Monday (5/6/2023).
On the second day, the weather has been rainy since 6:00 a.m. Even so, the Dompet Dhuafa QC Team carried out QC that day, from morning to night. The QC team also had to pass through a typical hilly winding path. One is Batu Gajah Village, a hamlet located inland. Going further, the Dompet Dhuafa Team must go to one of the cages on the hill.

“We live in Baet El Anshar Foundation, Pasir Alwi Village, Palasari Girang Village, Kalapanunggal District. It is a school/madrasah established thanks to the noble intentions and empowerment of Riung Mukti cooperative livestock. We also conducted night QC in Palasari Girang Village and continued the following day in Batu Gajah Village,” said Ghufron.
“This is unique and memorable for us. Rock and uphill path. The trip was paid off by the residents of Batu Gajah Village, who were very friendly. When we arrived, we were warmly welcomed, especially in every cage, residents always prepare warm tea,” he added.
With these various factors, Kalapanunggal District is one of the right locations for implementing Eid al-Adha in the empowerment and distribution of the THK Program. Ustaz Harun, Chairman of Riung Mukti Cooperative, said that through livestock empowerment, Dompet Dhuafa opened his eyes and knocked the hearts of Kalapanunggal residents. Dompet Dhuafa has seen and helped their potential.

“Initially, the potential here was only agriculture. Land, weather, and water are very supportive. Dompet Dhuafa has been here since 2009, unlocking our potential through empowering sheep/goats. Initially, it was only 3 groups of livestock in 2 sub-districts. Now, there are 9 livestock groups in 3 sub-districts, and around 9,000 doka (domba/kambing or sheep/goat) have been distributed.
