DEPOK, WEST JAVA – Dompet Dhuafa continues to promote #WeStandForPalestine and has initiated collaborative actions of kindness with other institutions to provide assistance to survivors of the humanitarian tragedy in Palestine. The oppression by Israel in Gaza has been ongoing for twenty-nine days yet support for the Palestinian people continues to flow. Far from diminishing, it is growing stronger.
Age does not hinder the students of Fitrah Al Fikri Islamic School from defending and helping their brothers and sisters in the land of Sham (Syria). On Friday (4/11/2023), through Dompet Dhuafa, Fitrah Al Fikri Islamic School channeled donations to the survivors of violence in Gaza. The total donation received by Dompet Dhuafa amounted to IDR 120,504,000.
These donations were collected from students at kindergarten, elementary, junior high, and senior high levels, as well as from teachers and parents. This activity is part of the school’s efforts to foster a sense of humanity and care among the children.

Nuri Febriani, the Principal of SD Islam Fitrah Al-Fikri, revealed that the funds were collected over a period of three weeks. Through the ‘Kencleng Jumat’ program initiated by the school, students set aside a portion of their wealth, some of which was donated to Palestine.
“So, every Friday, the children are required to contribute to the Kencleng. This time, we are donating to our brothers and sisters in Palestine, who are suffering under Israeli cruelty. We can’t help much beyond our prayers and some of our wealth, which we entrust to Dompet Dhuafa. Hopefully, our efforts can alleviate the suffering of the Palestinian people, particularly our prayers for a free Palestine,” said Nuri.
Nuri also expressed appreciation for the synergy of kindness established between Dompet Dhuafa and the school she leads. She believes that Dompet Dhuafa is consistently trustworthy and transparent in distributing funds from the community.
“We chose to partner with Dompet Dhuafa because we have collaborated for over 15 years, and we believe Dompet Dhuafa, God willing, is trustworthy, distributes aid appropriately, and always provides reports for each donation we make,” she explained.
This fundraising effort is conducted to encourage students to empathize with fellow Muslims and to support one another, especially the victims.
In addition to the symbolic donation handover by students and the Student Board, the event featured various poetry performances by students, nasyid chants, and educational stories presented by Kak Izul. The students were very enthusiastic and showed their support through writings.
Many of them wore Middle Eastern-style turbans and scarves bearing the Palestinian flag around their necks. Various Palestinian-themed attributes added to the spirit of support for the country under occupation. (Dompet Dhuafa/Anndini)
