ADIYAMAN, TURKEY — Paragon Corp and Dompet Dhuafa built Hunian Sementara or Huntara (Temporary Housing) for Turkey earthquake survivors. This residence is Dompet Dhuafa’s commitment in helping Turkey Earthquake survivors who still need a helping hand, to recover.
The recovery of earthquake survivors was done by building Huntara (temporary housing) which was carried out by the Dompet Dhuafa organ, Disaster Management Center (DMC) with a partner, Gazze Destek Dernegi. This habitable huntara are built with the concept of containers, which are adaptive to the climate in Turkey, and capable of earthquake shocks on a certain scale.
Afifah A. Maghend, CSR Representative of Paragon expressed her appreciation for the implementation of the collaboration between Paragon Corp and Dompet Dhuafa to help survivors of this Gempa Turki (Turkey Earthquake).

“Paragon would like to thank the Paragonian for the concern for the disaster experienced by our brothers in Turkey. This is in line with one of Paragon’s values, that is caring. Paragonian hopes that the assistance provided can ease the burden on earthquake survivors there, and hopefully they can get back up and live a better life,” said Fifi on Wednesday (12/7/2023).
“We would also like to thank Dompet Dhuafa for its collaboration, so that we can contribute to the handling of the disaster,” she continued.
This temporary housing is located in the village area of Adiyaman City, Adiyaman Province, Turkey. The decision to choose this location to build Huntara is because it is close to the survivor’s farmland, so it can help survivors in their activities without having to be constrained by distance, cost, and time with their source of livelihood.

“The earthquake destroyed our houses, so we didn’t have a house to just for rest. We had asked for temporary housing, but no one could grant it yet. But with the help of donors (Paragon Corp and Dompet Dhuafa), we finally have temporary housing. Thank you to the donors,” said one of the benefit recipients when he saw his temporary residence standing in front of him.
Overall 107,000 people were injured and more than 50,000 deaths have been reported. As many as 3 million people have been forced to leave their homes, 1.6 million people are still living in refugee camps (half of whom are women and girls), and nearly 800,000 people are moved into housing provided by the authorities.
“Based on the reports we have received, until now survivors still need daily fulfillment assistance in the form of access to adequate water and sanitation, access to available service information, and social protection schemes. In addition, they also need health insurance, education, and safety for people with disabilities, pregnant-lactating women and also children,” explained Arif Rahmadi Haryono as Chief Executive of DMC Dompet Dhuafa via short message.

“Thank you to Paragon Corp for collaborating for the goodness of the brothers and sisters affected by the earthquake in February. In addition to huntara, we will continue to strive for the best recovery of the lives of affected survivors so that they are able to stand on their own feet, looking at the future,” Arif concluded.
