Together with Dompet Dhuafa, Vespa 60s Jabodetabek Celebrates 2nd Anniversary with Happy Orphans

JAKARTA — The Vespa 60s Jabodetabek community officially turned two years old in August 2023. The 2nd Anniversary Vespa 60s Jabodetabek celebration took place on Sunday (27/8/2023) at THAMRIN 10 Food & Creative Park, Central Jakarta. As a form of gratitude for the establishment of Vespa 60s Jabodetabek, the vespa community again collaborated with Dompet Dhuafa as a charity partner.

The event was even more lively with the presence of other Vespa communities from outside the region who flocked to join the riding action together. Thousands of Vespas were spilled over to participate in the 2nd anniversary celebration of 60s Jabodetabek.

Riding together from Maramani Park as a gathering point, the vespa parade moved past TVRI and the final point at THAMRIN 10, where the main event was held.

Chairman of the 2nd Anniversary 60s Jabodetabek, Andi Trisasi Utama revealed that 60s is present in order to preserve the round Vespa.

“So the goal of 60s is to preserve the round Vespa, especially in Jabodetabek. So, we enjoy with Vespa still exist. Thank you very much for your support, in these two years we have been together as brothers,” Andi said.

Arriving at the location, Vespa bikers can enjoy a series of events that have been prepared. There are many booths that can be visited, such as spare parts stalls, Vespa unit displays, culinary offerings, and also various entertainment performances from Mr. Jarwo, Sueb, Billy Beat Box, Pasir Pantai, Unlimited Energy, and so on.

With the spirit of milad, Andi added that the 60s Jabodetabek Community not only celebrated their birthday with Vespa fans throughout Indonesia, but also invited all Vespa lovers not to forget orphans.

“We have been working with Dompet Dhuafa for two years since the first anniversary. We work together with Dompet Dhuafa. So, every 60s member can have the opportunity to donate or give donations to orphans, we also post it on Instagram. So, hopefully everyone’s heart is open so that the sustenance they get can be channeled so that it becomes a form of happiness as well as a blessing for both those who give and those who receive,” Andi continued.

In the midst of the excitement, there was a donation that targeted the Muliakan Anak Yatim Program, this was marked by a symbolic donation by 60s Jabodetabek to Dompet Dhuafa.

“We are targeting orphans because we want to distribute clearly so we are working with Dompet Dhuafa to share happiness with orphans who have been managed by Dompet Dhuafa,” he added.

Meanwhile, Dompet Dhuafa also supported the success of the event by providing a Dompet Dhuafa Free Health Service (LKC) ambulance that perched in the middle of the euphoria of the milad and accompanied the Vespa convoy.

“Alhamdulillah, we are still trusted by the Jabodetabek Vespa 60s Community as the chosen partner to be able to provide happiness to orphaned children. On this second anniversary we also support by providing an ambulance to anticipate events that require medical attention by the Dompet Dhuafa Free Health Service Team (LKC),” said Dimas Muttakhin as Dompet Dhuafa’s Community Fundraising Specialist.

Furthermore, Ustaz Suherman, a representative of Corps Dai Dompet Dhuafa (Cordofa) revealed the virtue of honoring orphans.

“The Prophet said, ‘I and those who take care of orphans like this will be in heaven’. Then, he hinted with his index and middle fingers which shows closeness and togetherness,” explained Ustaz Suherman.

“This afternoon is not only witnessed by other Vespa communities, but as a real proof of the goodness that the 60s is not only the good evidence that I found, but here witnessing the care that is harvested by setting aside orphans, caring for orphans,” concluded Ustaz Suherman.
