UU Camp Batch 12: Umar Usman Business School students forge leadership skills in the wild

BOGOR, WEST JAVA — A total of 63 Umar Usman Business School Batch 12 students successfully underwent the Umar Usman Camp (UU Camp). The activity, which lasted for three days (1-3/10/2024) at Gunung Geulis Campsite Bogor, was the closing of a series of matriculations with the main objectives of building cohesiveness, strengthening character, and improving participants’ leadership skills.

Not just an outdoor activity, UU Camp is a proving ground to hone character, leadership, and a spirit of togetherness. Various activities such as outbound, team building, and other physical challenges, taught participants to get out of their comfort zone and explore their hidden potential.

Muhammad Aqsha, the person in charge of UU Camp Batch 12 explained that one of the main focuses of UU Camp is to strengthen cohesiveness and synergy among participants to hone teamwork and problem solving skills. Students are also trained in taking initiatives and leading in situations that require the power of collaboration.

‘This activity aims to form students who are not only academically proficient, but also have leadership skills and solid teamwork,’ he said.

According to Aqhsa, an important session in the UU Camp this time was a study session themed ‘Correlation of Surah Al-Waqi’ah with the Door of Rezeki’. This session provided spiritual refreshment for the participants, as well as teaching the importance of balancing academic life with religious values.

The highlight of the event was the colourful Creativity Night. Each group performed a variety of artworks, from evocative theatre performances to heartfelt poetry. The event was a platform for students to express themselves and their creativity.

Salma, Academic Supervisor of Umar Usman Business School, hopes that this activity can be a valuable provision for students in facing future challenges. Umar Usman Business School wants to produce graduates who are not only smart, but also have integrity, leadership skills, and a passion for learning.
