Vigorously Hold Emergency Response Services in 10 Provinces in One Full Month

SOUTH TANGERANG — October was a tough witness. Grief and wounds had disappeared from millions of people’s faces. The reason is that natural disasters are rampant and disrupt people’s lives in various regions of Indonesia.

Seeing this reality, Dompet Dhuafa’s Disaster Management Center (DMC) intensified emergency response-recovery services and teams in various regions in Indonesia. Collaborating with Dompet Dhuafa branch offices such as Dompet Dhuafa Aceh, Dompet Dhuafa Banten, Dompet Dhuafa West Java, Dompet Dhuafa Central Java, Dompet Dhuafa East Java, Dompet Dhuafa Waspada (North Sumatra), Dompet Dhuafa South Sulawesi, and Dompet Dhuafa Bali.

“We are deeply grateful for the volunteers from the Dompet Dhuafa branch office. Starting from Dompet Dhuafa Aceh, Dompet Dhuafa Banten, Dompet Dhuafa West Java, Dompet Dhuafa Central Java, Dompet Dhuafa East Java, Dompet Dhuafa Waspada (North Sumatra), Dompet Dhuafa South Sulawesi, and Dompet Dhuafa Bali,” explained Haryo Mojopahit as Chief Executive of DMC Dompet Dhuafa.

On October 1, 2022, Dompet Dhuafa helped clean up debris due to a burning house in Cicadas Village, Gunung Putri District, Bogor Regency. This brings deep sorrow to the affected residents.

“Likewise with those of us who read the news or watch short shows on social media, the feeling of being slashed because the existing disaster is getting worse,” said the Dompet Dhuafa West Java team when reviewing the location in the field.

Following reports of riots that occurred at Kanjuruhan Stadium, Kepanjen District, Malang Regency. Dompet Dhuafa unloaded the ambulance fleet and opened the Warm Post service on October 2, 2022.

At the same time, from October 2, 2022, to October 6, 2022, Dompet Dhuafa opened a Public Kitchen, Clean Action, and Psychosocial Services after the earthquake in North Tapanuli.

“Currently, we have established a soup kitchen to meet the logistical needs of the affected refugees. Hopefully, it can help,” wrote the Dompet Dhuafa Waspada report.

Unfortunately, the Jabodetabek area on October 4, 2022, was hit by heavy rains that caused floods. From October 4, 2022, to October 10, 2022, Dompet Dhuafa helped evacuate activities in several Jabodetabek.

Then from October 7, 2022, to October 15, 2022, Dompet Dhuafa opened the Public Kitchen, Warm Post, Healthy Service Action, Child Feeding (PMT), Clean Water Distribution, Food Logistics Distribution to Evacuation actions for flood survivors in the North Aceh region.

“Insha Allah, the mandate and trust of the donors and friends of all of us, we will take care of it, and we can continue to spread the goodness and benefits of sacrifice for those in need, especially dhuafa,” explained the Dompet Dhuafa Aceh team reporting from the location.

Bali, one of Indonesia’s attractive tourist destinations, was exposed to flood disasters. Dompet Dhuafa on October 8, 2022, also helped distribute ready-to-eat food and assisted in evacuating motor vehicles of survivors affected by the flood.

Central Java also visited flash floods in the Cilacap Regency and Banyumas Regency. Dompet Dhuafa from October 8, 2022, to October 11, 2022, also provided Healthy Service Action, Warm Post, assisted with clean-up actions, and assisted in the evacuation of the daily movement of survivors.

“For the children, this is a very memorable experience crossing the flood to go to school, but for us, this is a valuable experience because no matter the conditions we can take the children to continue learning at school,” said the Dompet Dhuafa Central Java team after taking the children by boat.

Furthermore, on October 9, 2022, a tornado hit the Pancoran Mas area, Depok. Dompet Dhuafa sent a team to clean up fallen trees due to the tornado.

Not quite there, flash floods hit the Lebak area, Banten, bringing great concern to residents. Dompet Dhuafa, October 10, 2022 – October 16, 2022, also opened a Warm Post, helped distribute ready-to-eat food, distributed additional supplements, and helped mobilize daily residents.

“This disaster is a sorrow for all of us. Right now, Lebak needs a helping hand to strengthen, it takes our kindness to help them rise from the slump. Dompet Dhuafa Banten invites us to help Lebak together. Let’s lighten the burden on those who are currently in need,” explained Dompet Dhuafa Banten reporting from the disaster-affected location.

From October 13, 2022, to October 16, 2022, Dompet Dhuafa assisted in the search for landslide victims in Kepatihan, Bogor. Thanks to the cooperation of the joint SAR team, they managed to find three victims who were buried by landslide material.

With a high humanitarian spirit, Dompet Dhuafa from October 14, 2022, to October 20, 2022, also provided emergency services for survivors of the Mamuju flood and landslide disaster in Sulawesi. Start from opening a Public Kitchen, Warm Post, distributing clean water, and doing pure actions.

“In response to the Mamuju flood, the Dompet Dhuafa team took to the field to help residents affected by the disaster, starting from collecting data and helping with clean-up actions,” said the Dompet Dhuafa South Sulawesi team reporting from the field.

Following the sad news in Mamuju, parts of East Java, to be precise, Pacitan Regency, Malang Regency, and Trenggalek Regency were flooded. Seeing this tragic news, Dompet Dhuafa on October 15, 2022, to October 21, 2022, provided services in the form of Public Kitchens, food logistics distribution, hygiene kit distribution, and clean-up actions.

“Many residents’ houses and public facilities have not been able to be used due to the large amount of mud material that litters the building area,” reported the Dompet Dhuafa East Java team from the location.

In addition, Dompet Dhuafa sent a team to areas affected by flash floods in Pakistan. Dompet Dhuafa and Fatih Foundation partners have provided assistance in the form of basic necessities, hygiene kits, ready-to-eat food distribution, tents, and opening healthy services. Then it didn’t stop there, Dompet Dhuafa also presented clean water facilities to meet the basic needs of clean sanitation for residents affected by the disaster.

With its variety, it is a collaboration of people who are members of the Indonesia Siap Siaga movement.
