LAMPUNG – Isolation and Inpatient rooms are crucial components in a hospital ecosystem for comprehensive healthcare services. Striving to support such healthcare services, on Wednesday (20/12/2023), Dompet Dhuafa in collaboration with Samudera Peduli inaugurated the Isolation & Inpatient Rooms at AKA Medika Sribhawono Hospital, East Lampung, Lampung.
Previously in May 2023, Dompet Dhuafa received Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) funds from Samudera Peduli to be allocated to AKA Medika Sribhawono Hospital in East Lampung. The received funds were utilized for the renovation and construction of an isolation room and two inpatient rooms. From May to December 2023, the renovation and construction process was 100 percent completed.
“We are grateful for the presence of Samudera Peduli for their support with the inpatient and isolation rooms for AKA Medika Sribhawono Hospital. Dompet Dhuafa endeavors to optimize the funds we collect to build hospitals for the needy communities, with the collaboration of Samudera Peduli. We hope that Dompet Dhuafa can be increasingly accepted by the community,” said Bobby P. Manulang, General Manager of Waqf Dompet Dhuafa.
Built on an 8,000 square meter site, AKA Medika Sribhawono Hospital has 102 beds for regular and intensive inpatient care. Every month, the hospital is visited by about 1,500 to 1,700 patients. Approximately 35 to 40 percent of these patients generally require hospitalization.
“We express our highest gratitude and appreciation to Samudera Peduli for their assistance. This enables us to continue being beneficial to the community. AKA Medika Sribhawono Hospital has recently been accredited and achieved the highest rating of excellence,” said Erwin Mukhtaruddin, Director of Business Development at DD Medika.

Today, AKA Medika Sribhawono Hospital serves as a referral for many public health centers and clinics, not only in Sribhawono District but also from areas surrounding Sribhawono District. Since being designated as a Type C General Hospital in 2017 and joining the BPJS health service, AKA Medika Hospital now has 105 inpatient rooms, including class 1, class 2, class 3, and VIP rooms, supported by 10 specialist doctors.
The Isolation and Inpatient Rooms are designated for patients diagnosed with contagious diseases as a preventive measure against transmission to other patients, thus avoiding nosocomial infection incidents. These specialized rooms are designed for patient care requiring isolation due to their condition and feature modular physical barriers per patient, as well as doors and windows separate from other isolation rooms.
Standard inpatient care requires specific criteria based on the facilities and infrastructure provided by the hospital. Currently, standard class criteria have been established for general inpatient services. The patient care environment in general inpatient rooms is designed to minimize the presence of dust particles, microorganisms, and spores as much as possible.
In delivering healthcare services, AKA Medika Sribhawono Hospital emphasizes humanity. The hospital also offers free services to the needy or underprivileged individuals even if they do not have BPJS health insurance.
AKA Medika Sribhawono Hospital is the second hospital managed by Dompet Dhuafa. The hospital is financed through productive wakaf schemes and cross-subsidized with other religious funds such as zakat, infaq, and sadaqah. Various modern medical facilities are available at the hospital.
Samudera Peduli has channeled Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) donations to AKA Medika Sribhawono Hospital, including an Anesthesia Machine, Magnolia and Camelia Inpatient Rooms, an Isolation Room, and an Ambulance.
“As per our founder’s vision, he was a nationalist businessman who also wanted to contribute and be beneficial to society. With all our prayers, we hope what we provide can be a means for the acceptance of all Samudera Peduli’s endeavors. We hope to continue with further programs,” said Asril Bari, Chairman of the Samudera Peduli Foundation. (Dompet Dhuafa / Hafiz / Fatzry Boim)
