Have you ever wondered why orphans are glorified? So far, Islam has given various instructions that glorifying orphans is necessary for us to practice. I cannot imagine how sad it is to be left behind by a father figure who was supposed to protect and give love but is gone. The Prophet also had a great love for orphans and wanted to protect them consistently. Friend, let us look at the commentary on the reasons for glorifying orphans in Islam.
1. Adding Good Charity By Glorifying Orphans
Allah Subhanahu wa Ta’ala said:
“They ask you what they should do. Say, “Whatever property you afflict should be reserved for both parents, relatives, orphans, the poor, and those on their way.” Whatever goodness you do. Indeed, Allah is All-Knowing.” (Q.S Al-Baqarah [2]:215)
Why does Allah SWT glorify orphans? Islam indeed teaches His people to love Muslim brothers and help each other. In every provision, we are not only for older people or people experiencing poverty but also for orphans. Surah Al-Baqarah verse 215 reminds us to increase the charity of goodness by giving our possessions to orphans. Allah SWT will indemnify us in the most comprehensive of goodness so that we remember the importance of giving some of our possessions to orphans that Allah Almighty will give us glory and goodness.
2. Increase the purity of slaves to Allah SWT
Allah Subhanahu wa Ta’ala said:
“It is not facing your face east and west, but it is (the virtue) of one who has faith in God, the Judgement Day, angels, scriptures, and prophets; giving his beloved property to relatives, orphans, the poor, travellers, beggars, and (free) servants or slaves; performing prayers; performing compulsory donation or zakat; keep promises when promises; patience in poverty, suffering, and in times of war. They are the righteous, and they are the righteous.” (Q.S Al-Baqarah [2]:177)
Allah Almighty gives instructions for His pious servants, that is, when giving the property he loves to orphans. Indeed, Allah Almighty teaches His people to share sustenance with orphans so that life becomes prosperous and not lacking. If you want to show devotion to Allah SWT, you can start by sharing sustenance with orphans by donating or providing for their needs. It will not make friends lose a lot of money by sharing. It will increase the reward and proof of holiness of a servant to Allah Almighty.

3. Improving the Dignity of Believers when Glorifying Orphans
Allah Subhanahu wa Ta’ala said:
“Absolutely not! On the contrary, you do not glorify orphans” (Q.S Al-Fajr [89]:17)
Allah hates His proud servants and does not love orphans. Even though Allah SWT has given various warnings always to love and glorify orphans, in His Word, Allah SWT once warned people not to glorify orphans even though they have abundant wealth. Would not sharing sustenance with orphans increase our status before Allah Almighty? Let us, friends, always glorify orphans so that Allah Almighty elevates us.
Allah’s commandment to giving some of our possessions to orphans
Allah Almighty instructs His servants to further increase piety by providing sustenance to orphans. Giving love, glorifying, and prospering orphans is a tangible manifestation of our devotion to Allah SWT. It is appropriate for us as servants to give some of our possessions to orphans by the commands of Allah Almighty.
