TURKIYE — In a Sultan News program on SULTAN TV, the DMC (Disaster Management Center) Dompet Dhuafa Team in Turkiye again gave a live report on Tuesday (14/2/2023). The live stream was broadcasted via the https://www.youtube.com/live/-PV2FeiPp7A?feature=share link at 10.00 Turkiye time (14.00 WIB), just before the Dompet Dhuafa Team who were members of the Indonesia Search and Rescue (INASAR) conducted a search in the ruins affected by the Turkiye earthquake, precisely in the Çekmece area, Hatay.
The Response & Recovery Manager of DMC Dompet Dhuafa, Narwan, as the resource person explained, at that time he and his team were preparing to evacuate the victims of the Turkiye earthquake. Until now, the 7.8-magnitude earthquake that shook Turkiye and Syria on Monday (6/2/2023) has killed more than 36,000 people.
“Currently, Indonesia is trusted to lead the joint International SAR team here, it alternates for seven days. Yes, evacuations will continue to be carried out, until yesterday survivors were still found, one of which was a pregnant woman,” said Narwan.
In his report, he also explained that the help that survivors need most right now was winter preparation items, such as blankets, socks, and sleeping bags. Based on monitoring, weather conditions at the disaster site and its surroundings are in the middle of winter. No kidding, the air temperature in Turkiye almost breaks through -10 degrees Celsius.
“A number of aid began to arrive from all over the world, including Indonesia and the humanitarian movement by Dompet Dhuafa. The support of the people here is also quite high in initiation to help,” explained Narwan.
“Although a lot of aid has arrived, assistance management must still be made, so that it can also be prepared as stock in the future,” he added.

In line with this, the General Manager of Disaster Risk Reduction of DMC Dompet Dhuafa, Shofa Qudus, also said, since the second day after the Turkiye earthquake, Dompet Dhuafa has also carried out a series of humanitarian care movements for Turkiye survivors.
“In addition to directly coordinating with the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Indonesia and BASARNAS RI, among others, Dompet Dhuafa held salat al-Ghaib (prayers for the absent) prayers and praying together, solidarity actions on Car Free Day, as well as cooperation with the Mitra Pengelola Zakat or MPZ (Zakat Management Partners) mosque network. Hopefully, prayers and support from Indonesian people can ease the burden on the survivors of the Turkiye earthquake,” explained Shofa.
