BANTEN — March 24 is World Tuberculosis Day commemorated to remind all parties of the dangers of TB disease. In commemoration of 2023, the Free Health Service (LKC) Dompet Dhuafa held a series of activities in 12 provinces throughout Indonesia.
The activities will occur from March 14-24, 2023, including the TB exhibition and the TB TOSS (Find a Cure Until Cure) campaign. In addition, there are also educational content and online TB public service advertisements on LKC-DD’s social media channels.
LKC-DD held a TB Exhibition for the Banten region at SMA Negeri 1 Warunggunung, Lebak, Banten, on Monday (20/3/2023). Meyta Winduka Alexandriana, Head of LKC-DD Banten, said four booths were provided as educational media. Starting a booth to measure the extent of school children’s knowledge related to TB, then a TB history exhibition booth, TB cinema, and a TB snakes and ladders competition booth.

“Children will be involved in each booth in each class to facilitate the absorption of information about TB for school students. The tuberculosis journey contains knowledge about the historical origin of TB disease in Indonesia and information on Dompet Dhuafa’s efforts in tackling TB. There is the TB Cinema, the TB snake and ladder game, “said Meyta.
He continued that after India, Indonesia had the highest TB cases globally. Based on data released by the Indonesian Ministry of Health in 2022, TB cases in Indonesia are estimated to reach 969,000. That is, every 33 seconds, one person is suffering from tuberculosis. Even today, there are 57,600 school-age children in Indonesia affected by TB.
This LKC activity received a warm welcome from the school of SMAN 1 Warunggunung. As Vice Principal for Curriculum at this school, Momon thanked LKC Dompet Dhuafa for choosing SMA Negeri 1 Warunggunung to organize the world TB exhibition.

Drg. Martina Tirta Sari as Head of LKC-DD Center explained that LKC Dompet Dhuafa had played a role in tuberculosis prevention efforts since 2004 and will continue to strive to provide education about TB, both prevention and treatment, targeting the community, school children, and all TB activists.
