SERANG, BANTEN — After visiting DD Farm Banten and the Family-Friendly Mudik Post by Dompet Dhuafa in Cilegon, Yudi Latif, a Member of the Board of Trustees of Dompet Dhuafa Republika Foundation (YDDR), proceeded to one of Dompet Dhuafa’s waqf assets. This was Achmad Wardi Eye Hospital located in Serang, Banten, which Yudi Latif visited on Monday (8/4/2024).
During his visit, Yudi was welcomed by the General Director of Achmad Wardi Eye Hospital (RSAW), Pradipta Suarsyaf, and one of the general practitioners at RSAW, Zaddam Wahid. While touring and introducing the facilities to Yudi Latif, Pradipta explained that RSAW provides facilities such as the Diagnostic Room, Inpatient Rooms (Class 1, Class 2, and Class 3), and Operating Rooms.
RSAW is also equipped with services such as the Glaucoma Center, Optical Center, Myopia Screening Center, Cataract Center, Retina Center, and Medical Check-Up. Yudi and Yayat also had the opportunity to experience one of the services at Achmad Wardi Eye Hospital, namely the Myopia Screening Center.
Zaddam mentioned that on a daily basis, RSAW serves 100-150 patients covered by BPJS (Indonesia’s national health insurance), 10 charity patients, and 20 executive clinic patients. Regarding charity patients, Zaddam explained that the indicator is possession of a Certificate of Unable to Pay (Surat Keterangan Tidak Mampu, SKTM).
Continuing from Zaddam’s statement, Pradipta revealed that on average, patients coming to Achmad Wardi Eye Hospital often complain of work-related accidents. This is due to Banten being dominated by industrial areas, exposing workers to high risks of workplace accidents.
“They often experience work-related accidents, such as being hit by wood splinters or exposure to chemicals in the eyes, among others,” said Pradipta.
After touring the facilities, they discussed the development of Achmad Wardi Eye Hospital (RSAW) so far. Yudi Latif expressed surprise that Serang has an eye hospital that excels in many aspects, especially considering the limited number of eye specialists and subspecialists in the area. He viewed RSAW as a tangible implementation of goodwill from many parties.
